Great location but...............
I stayed here for four nights.
On arrival I was informed that renovations were taking place along with an apology for the appearance of the hotel. That was fine, some dust and smell of paint but not in my room. However, being woken at 6.30 the next morning by builders banging and using power machinery was not. When I spoke to the person on reception I was informed that would not happen again - to an extent that was true, I was only woken at 6.50 the next day so not quite as early. Additionally, whilst waiting for a friend in the reception area I could clearly hear a conversation between one of the builders and, I think, the manager about invoices etc - far from professional behaviour as it was not the kind of conversation any guest should be privy to when paying for a service. On the first night I got back from a concert to find my room baking hot which took a couple of hours to cool down after turning off the heating and opening windows - something I then did every day fro the rest of my stay. I'm sure that when work like this is going on it's a lovely place to stay, location fantastic and easy to get to other places. However, the staff need some training in how to present the hotel to guests when all is not perfect. I had no other interaction with them, the breakfast waitress didn't even let me sit down before asking what I wanted from the menu (not that it took long to read as it was incredibly limited) and the receptionist didn't bother to ask if I'd had a good stay when I checked out. All in all I was not left with a good impression of this hotel which is a shame as I feel it could be a wonderful place to stay.
Stauntons always takes the stress away!
I stay at Stauntons on the Green when in Dublin as it is a 5 minute walk to my solicitor's office needless to say, if I have to see my solicitor I'm stressed.
They are upgrading and redecorating to a very high standard, and my room (at the back overlooking the gardens) had new, thick pile carpet, quality drapes, a sparkling bathroom and a wonderful ambient heat on a cold Dublin day. You sleep so well at the back of the house. I live in West Cork on an island, and the nights are dark and peaceful, so conducive to sleep but I always get the same at the back of house bedrooms at Stauntons. Amazing. I only gave a reduced grade for food in this review as the waiter forgot the salt for my boiled eggs for room service breakfast but that's okay.
Dublin small hotel where the staff really care
Quirky historic building with character.
Comfortable beds. Very helpful staff. Excellent location. Only criticism of our stay in Dublin was the noise from revellers in the street at 1 a.m and tooting of car horns at 4 a.m
A great stay with great service
I was made to feel very welcome from the moment I arrived.
Breakfast was lovely and well presented. I was only there for a couple of nights but would have loved to stay longer.
Excellent Guest house in nice location
This was a nice suprise found a really nice guesthouse.
Will definatly use this hotel again if we come to Dublin.
Stauntons on the Green Guesthouse
Overpriced, room very musky and worn. Terrible bed very uncomfortable. Breakfast just about passable. Receptionist during check in not informed of availability of parking or of amenities.
Nice view of St. Stephens’s green and ideal location in city center.
We found that this guest house had good size rooms it was clean and the staff were very helpful.
The situation of the guest house was well placed in Dublin for all the places of interest and it was very quite over looking a lovely park. I would certainly stay at this guest house again.
Dublin City Stopover
Great location, just across the road from St.
Stephen's Green. Room was a bit small and old fashioned but it was fine for what I needed. Great food the next morning.
Fantastic weekend in Dublin !!
Stayed for 2 nights at stauntons on the green last weekend, after having a couple of bad experiences with booking on late rooms I always look at the photos with rose tinted glasses but I must say the photos on the site are very accurate !.
The Staunton on the green is the perfect b&b in the perfect location for a weekend in Dublin . Located right on st Stephens green it's the perfect place handy for the busy grafton st shops a short 20 min walk to the bars in temple bar but far enough away to be quiet over night. The staff are very helpful for any queries u may have and the hotel is warm clean and extremely comfortable !!. Absolutely perfect !!!
This is a 2 stars hotel maximum.. I wonder who rated as a 4 stars.. I wont recommend it to any body.
This a guest hous.
Bed and breakfast lodge located across from the park.. Thats all. I went there on a business tripp and was stuck there beacuse the god hotels were booked.. Once i checked in I fouNd out that there is no elevator, no one to help yo with yor luggage. Th e room which was in the 3rd floor was so tiny that i couldnt move easly.. The floor was making a noise as you walk. There was no AC. The towels had stains on them. I spend the first day looking for another hotel. When I found a decent one, the refused to check me out the next day unless I pay an extra day. I paid and left happily. Becarefull trafelles.
