Disappointment at reception
on arrival at reception we were told there was no booking for us!! The receptionist was very helpful but for that initial short time waiting, I was very concerned as I had bought this overnight reservation for my husband for his birthday. We were told there was not a booking showing either through late rooms or the hotel direct!! The receptionist had to make a call to late rooms to see what had happened? We were given a room after it was re-booked which obviously took longer time when we didn't have a lot of time as we had a table booked in the restaurant shortly after arrival. The room was extremely hot, the window not being able to be opened very much and although they provided a fan in the wardrobe to use, it was absolutely useless, was very small anyway but rattled and banged and we were unable to use it therefore giving a very uncomfortable night!!!

Not what we expected of the Grand
Our 1st room offered was damp and the 2nd room missed touches like dressing gowns no fridge no air conditioning It was stuffy and hot.Our guest room was the same and they could not open the window . we rented 3 rooms and all vey much the same. This hotel is leaving on it's name! there is now no swimming pool and you can only use the spa area if you have a treatment. therefore not offering what most 3 star hotels up and down the country offer.
Watch the promotions coctail hour from 5-7 £5.00 but we had 4 different coctails and all our cocktails where full price. We booked table for 6 in GB1 Restraunt for 6 at 7.30 did not get our main courses until after 9.00pm we where very disappointed in meals some of the mains portion are the size of a starters (Red Mullet for example). we have eaten at good restraunts up and down the country and the was very middle of the road. Not grand.. The breakfast however did save the day well organised and good variety. We did have a very pleasant stay in Brighton and had a really good time but we can not say this was down to the Grand. I Booked this as family treat as we had visitors from Australia, we now wishes I had booked the Thristle to get more for less.

Excellent experience staying at this hotel, the spa was amazing! luxury rooms and fantastic staff!
My cousin and i stayed for two nights in this hotel, we are not used to luxurious hotels but wanted to treat ourselves andd we couldn't have chosen anywhere better. The staff were so friendly and made us feel like queens, especially at the spa which we found was so relaxing and the lovely lunch and glass of bubbly that came with our package was a treat!

Very nice room. The towels were amazing. Very comfy bedding. The view from the room was terrible but I suppose I only paid £200 so can't really complain. All in all a happy customer.

Feeling grand at the Grand
A lovely warm welcome from Concierge to Reception. A qui check in then up to my room which was bright and spacious. Had a slight error on booking with a double bed but housekeeping came within 10 mins and transformed the bed to twins. The male house keeper was super busy with calls but was so polite and friendly and even brought in a fridge. Nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast was great and the service was once again great.
Would most definitely come back to the Grand but for longer. Couldn't find anything negative to say.
