Stay at Hilton Avisford Park
So much good done by the staff here, but let down by the Hotel itself. On the plus side, lovely setting, super staff, beautiful food.
On the not so good side, £14.99 for the cheapest cost of wireless internet, after your first 60 minutes has expired, and I'll tell you that business users need to access the net on the evening, and in the morning, so you're pretty much forced to buy it. This is extortion in todays market. Wi-fi should be free in every good hotel, if you've paid £100+ a night to stay there, and I would not return just because of this factor. The room was extremely average, probably no bigger than your standard premier inn, yet I paid for a "delux room" which was supposed to be bigger than their standard room, so lord only knows how tiny a standard is. The rooms decor was a little dated, big broken fan in the corner, which was literally hanging to bits, and the temperature of the room was stifling all night, despite no heating apparently being on. I also only had about 5 channels to choose from on the very cheap looking TV. So, essentially, we have a £50 room, set in a £100 hotel, but as it's the room you judge the stay on, I wouldn't go back.

Tired, scruffy Hotel
Horrible, depressing room. Twin beds, no headboards?? Sponge pillows. Bathroom with mould in grout, unpainted skirting board, dirty paintwork, hole in bathroom door. Very old fashioned 60's style hotel in need of a huge facelift.
Ordered breakfast in the room for 7.30am to 8.00am., the breakfast was delivered at 6.30am. Second night we really wanted to catch up on our sleep, so didn't set the alarm and housekeeping were knocking on the door at 8.30am.

Overall Good Value
We stayed one night with 2 of our teenage sons. We got a good deal and have no complaints. We had a dinner and breakfast and both were really good.

Weekend 16 August
We stayed here as we were attending a wedding and the reception was at the hotel.
The only downside was our room which was extremely musty. I spoke with the management but they could only offer a thorough clean the next day. The room still had a musty smell but was better than before. Overall the room was not worth the cost. I have recently stayed in better hotels in Europe at a cheaper rate.
