shabby but comfortable and welcoming
Very comfortable bed.
Shabby decor. Good food. Helpful staff. Near the station.
Clean functional room, value for money.
Only one problem - bulbs had gone above the mirror with the hair dryer.
Great budget stay with free parking
I had read a few reviews of this hotel online saying it was tired but although the decor harks back to a 90's peach palace.
I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the rooms, the cheerful breakfast staff, complimentary toiletries and friendly hotel bar. At just over £60 for a double room on a Friday night with full English breakfast, we couldn't go wrong. It also had free parking and a bus stop on it's door step and just a 10 min bus journey to the city centre.
Friendly on arrival, ease of check-in and out, good location would stay again.
Below average and not worth the money
The room was very hot and the hotel only have one fan and one iron and board to iron clothes.
We did not eat or drink there and so I can speak about this as part of the experience. What I can say is the hotel stank of cigarettes and in the morning the fire alarm woke us up at 7am. This was probably due to someone smoking in the rooms. Substandard and I will not be going back. We paid £79 for a horrible experience .
nice hotel but pricy
Room wss spacious with a good shower.
The room lights we good and the room was quiet being at the back. Parking was free compared to up to £25 a day in town. the downside was that the hotel needs updating. Also the rooms were pricy but this may be a Brighton effect rather than the hotel.
Quite a basic hotel, however having stayed here several times, it is always clean, and the breakfast is worth having, and obviously parking is free, which is a bonus bearing in mind the extortionate parking fees in Brighton.
The staff are friendly enough, but should smile a bit more. I haven't tried the room service so can't comment.
Nice bedroom, quite a labyrinth to find the room but free parking service.
In overall very nice hotel, staff really helpful.
room smelt of damp, wallpaper comming of wall the bed was like sleeping on the floor.
mildrew on bathroom ceiling. will never stay at this hotel again, and for the price we expected better.very old fashioned.the floor was very uneven big bumps of uneven concrete .
Worst Hotel I have stayed in
Very poor with the exception of the lady who was doing breakfast.
Check in ok but no info re internet etc. Ordered food, not available, asked for fish told they had received complaints abut the fish so wouldn't recommend it, asked what the special was, there wasn't one!. eventually had to have chicken marsala from the limited menu, after 10 mins was told the rice isn't very good so id have to have chips, so curry (mainly sauce) and chips is what I had. Room was very noisy from the noise of the road and also from other rooms. Radiator could not be turned down so had a very hot night, exposed wires on towel heater which didn't work and shower got stuck on. Burnt fingers on plate at breakfast which was ridiculously hot, breakfast food ok but nothing special. Overall not great
