The Red Lion in Buckland, Betchworth is a well established family run traditional English Country Pub & Restaurant with Accommodation set in a beautiful rural location yet centrally placed for access to London and the South East. The pub dates back to the early 18th century with parts of the main building being built around 1730. The Wisteria plant at the back of the main building is said to be 230 years old which would make it the oldest Wisteria plant in the country.
Our restaurant enjoys a good reputation for tasty, freshly prepared food which is available from 12. 00 to 14. 30 and 18. 30 to 21. 30 during weekdays and is open longer at the weekend, particularly during the day. All rooms have tea & coffee making facilities and flat screen televisions with built in Freeview. The whole interior was re carpeted and redecorated in 2009. Very friendly run pub and b&b.
Enjoyed our evening meal in the restaurant, plenty of choice on the menu and a full plate. The only complaint we had - was the b&b room walls are thin and you can hear other guests talking.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Red Lion.
Room comfy, food delicious. Best cooked breakfast we've had in a long time.
