We stay in apartments for leisure and business regularly and this was the most dissapointing experience and value for money I have received in a long time.
The apartment was situated above a night club and late night kebab shop which meant it was noisy and quite intimidating returning in the evening. The apartment was cold and the wind rattled through the windows while the light streamed in around curtains that didn't fit. There was only 1 towel for the two of us and the door handle to the bathroom came off in my hand as I shut the door behind me, thankfully my husband was with me to let me out. The wardrobe and plug socket was hanging off the wall and only half the lights worked. The television was not have any cables so didn't work at all, the bed linen wasn't ironed and there was no washing up liquid. To top it off I tried to contact max apartments with the problems we have but no one was available and no one is yet to reply to me.......
A Fiery problem
Arriving in the dark posed a real problem for me as I am visually impaired and have a mobility disability...the place was in darkness.
Having let ourselves into the accommodation there was no light. We had to grope our way up several flights of stairs by the light of our mobile phones. Upon finding our apartment I telephoned the emergency number we had been given. Spoke to a very nice person but they couldn't help until the morning We had to vacate our room the next day as the fire alarm was going to be serviced. On our return yes there was light on the stairwell. However after being entertained from loud music from the nightclub until 4am in the morning would you believe the fire alarm sounded...we duly left our room to go downstairs...there was no notice to tell us where the fire assembly point. In the doorway was a man who (obviously knew the door code) was disarming the fire alarm to silence it. I was told that this was an on-going problem for the past two weeks. I emailed the head office of MAX Serviced Apartments (whom I have not had a reply)....informing them about our problem and the fact that the building was not currently protected by any working fire alarm. A real fire hazard and probably breaking the law. As we left the fire alarm box was still highlighting a fire in the building I would not wish our experience on anyone.
