About the hotel
Set on the pedestrianised part of historic Broad Street, The Buttery is one of Oxford’s most central accommodation providers. All 16 rooms are en-suite, some with original fireplaces and are decorated in a neutral style with light colours. The Buttery provides bed and breakfast accommodation in a choice of double, twin, single or family rooms.
Deluxe rooms have views overlooking Broad Street and Balliol College and standard rooms look out onto Ship Street buildings. All rooms offer free broadband internet access, flat screen televisions, direct dial telephones, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryers and electric shaver points. Rates include continental breakfast, which is served downstairs in the Oxford Campus Buttery. Being centrally located we are in easy walking distance of a number of museums, theatres, the main shopping areas as well as variety of restaurants and pubs offering a wide range of evening meal eating options. Links to public transport are easy, with the train station fifteen minutes walk or a short taxi ride away and the coach station even closer, five minutes walk at the most. Park and Ride bus stops are also only a few minutes walk from the door. Access is gained through the red door between Oxford Campus Stores and The Oxford Campus Butteery, after 6pm the door is shut and access is gained via an intercom on the left handside of the front door, our night porter ensures access is available throughout the night. Public parking facilities with payment meters are available nearby, however parking in the centre of Oxford is limited and expensive, we therefore recommend making use of the five Park and Ride sites that surround the city.

Comfortable hotel in central Oxford
Really enjoyed the stay, staff were friendly and helpful and non-intrusive.
We were just staying for a night out in Oxford, so spent little time at the hotel, but it was a good sized twin room, clean and comfortable with a good selection of teas and coffee. Breakfast was a simple continental spread in the downstairs cafe. Accommodated my request for a boiled egg rather than the croissants/ meat selection on offer. Friendly staff, although seemed a little stretched serving both hotel (in a rear private section) and off the street customers (at the front of the cafe). Enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend to others, the location and comfort of the stay alone are fantastic (coming down to street performers on a Broad Street - a great experience), although if you expect a hearty breakfast, perhaps go with a non-breakfast included room and eat at one of the many places near by.
Central, convenient location
I chose this hotel for its location, which is right in the middle of Oxford, so very convenient for the train station, museums, shops and restaurants.
I had a room at the front, so you do get some noise from people walking past at night, but I managed to sleep very well. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed for an overnight stay. The shower was excellent. There was a good choice at the continental breakfast in the café below. The staff were helpful and friendly. We were able to leave our bags there all day for free whilst we went to meetings in the city, which was a very useful service.
