Excellent value

We visit relatives in Southport regularly and have stayed in many different hotels and guest houses over the years, including a previous visit to the Scarisbrick.

The entrance to the hotel is not very pleasant due to the pubs on the ground floor which result in a stale beery smell pervading the area. Upstairs is better. The hotelis in need of refurbishment but, having said that, it is clean and excellent value. We paid £120 for 3 nights in a double room , no breakfast. When we stayed here before we ended up in a room above the speakers for the disco. It was unbearable and we were moved to a quieter room when we complained. This time we asked for a room in a quiet area of the hotel and were at the back on the second floor.. The first night we left the windows open and could hear the bass boom of music and there were a couple of loud groups of people leaving the nightclubs but it was ok. The second night we shut the double windows and heard nothing. Our room was large and the bed was very comfy. Bathroom was spacious, clean and the shower was good. There was masses of storage space in the room although the furniture was old and looked a bit tatty as there were patches where the varnish had disappeared. We didn't eat in the hotel. I would definitely stay here if you are looking for comfortable accomodation in a great location at a bargain price.

cannot fault it

For what i needed...this hotel was spot on...i booked a single room, but was given a double room gratis...

the reception staff were very friendly and accomodating...the bed was hard...which is perfect for my back, and the price was very reasonable
