Cheap and cheerfulish

You can't expect much for £40 a night - but the bed was firm, bedlinen crisp, the radio worked and the room was clean.

The bathroom had a weird cage like shelf above the sink that prevented anyone of adult height using the sink with comfort. Breakfast, taken at the bar in the adjoining night club, was a slimline affair, consisting only of either toast or cereal, not both, but the coffee was real. Fine for a quick business trip on a budget. Staff friendly.

Arrived to find we would be in room 10 on the third floor. At the top of the house.

Room not good.

Had to take the throw off the bed & put in the corner of the room out of the way. Covered in something. Not sure what. Tried to have a shave but no hot water. Rang reception & was told to boil a kettle. Had to clean the kettle before it could be used. The sheets & towels clean & bed comfortable. This is the best that could be said about our stay. Was asked what time we would like breakfast. We asked for 8.00 & were told it was a continental breakfast. When we went down in the morning there was no one there. We went out for breakfast to the Travelodge just round the corner. When we went back to collect our car that was just round the corner from the hotel at 9.40 someone was there & they apologise for being late. Not good as we had to pay for our breakfast across the road.
