Very good, little individual rooms in the garden area of the Inn, very quite only the singing of the birds!.
Two suggestions, lace curtains as the walkway to all the rooms means you are in view of all passing by. Also perhaps some light weight slippers left just inside the room as quests are walking from an outside path directly into the bedroom, more of a problem in winter of course.
A Great Find
We loved it.
It is in a lovely part of the country, right in the countryside, in a very peaceful and attractive village. The room was great and the food was excellent. We would highly recommend it and would definitely go back in future.
Rooms are clean and secluded, lovely quiet setting but still close to Ilminster.
Excellent choice of meals.
Stopover for holiday in devon
We will definitely return for a longer stay ,We were made very welcome .it is a friendly and warming pub lots of character, Superb food best steak I have had in along time and also the breakfast was superb i had a pot of coffee not just a mug.
Perfect for a relaxing break.
The New Inn is situated in a quiet, pretty Somerset village with easy access to numerous places of interest and near the Jurassic Coast.
All staff were efficient, friendly and welcoming. The bedrooms are situated in an annex next to the pub so you were provided with the choice of a quiet night in your room or able to join the friendly locals in the restaurant or bar. The breakfast was delicious - a good choice of freshly prepared, locally produced, hot food to order and the usual fruit juice, cereals and toast. We ate in the pub both evenings and again the food was extremely good with a comprehensive menu. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we are in the area.
Very enjoyable weekend staff warm and welcoming.
Good food and service.
A great place to stay.
Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room, great food and ale.
Delighted we found this place online and would certainly stay here again.
Excellent value, service, friendliness
This visit to the New Inn was for overnight during a business trip.
Located in the pretty village within walking distance of a cider brewery called Perrys Ciders and a shop selling a selection of the ciders and other food items like jams, chutney etc. Not in walking distance of other restaurants but the New Inn has an excellent menu to choose from and all reasonably priced choices. We had our evening meal there and was not disappointed. The accommodation is made up of individual rooms in an annexe attached to the pub/restaurant with a walkway and the doors open up onto the walkway which takes you past the outside garden area. Tea/Coffee and water available in room. Comfortable surroundings and a selection of washing amenities in bathroom with clean towels. Breakfast was cereals, juice and a selection of cooked breakfast items including a full cooked breakfast. Would definitely stay again. Thank you to great staff and warm welcome.
Great Friendly place to stay
Only 1 very small niggle, their descrpitions says wifi in rooms, but don't work - altho ok just outside.
