Good pleasant stay in a nice part of the Cotswolds
Friendly, clean place with plenty of atmosphere and great location.
Most guests seemed to have their dogs with them, so I guess it is known as a pet friendly place. Nearby Nailsworth is a quiet and lovely town, much more peaceful than some of the more well-known Cotswolds towns.
Lovely room, friendly staff and delicious food - a pretty perfect stay.
Although only staying one night, the staff were first class and a credit to the management.
Little way to go
Overall very friendly and comfortable feeling hotel.
Got shown to my room by a very friendly member of staff. Downside was it was at the back of the premises in some converted cottages. At first seemed okay in a quaint sort of way.The downsides were power sockets in the wrong places continually dripping tap no hot water in shower (might have been if I had waited more than 10 minutes for it to run) TV so small couldn't watch it from bed. None of this is the end of the world but when you are travelling for business there are certain minimum standards that need hitting. Dinner was very nice as was the breakfast. They are in the middle of some alterations (none which affected me) which I am sure will improve this hotel. I would like to give it another try but maybe in the main building.
Charm in the Cotswolds
Delightful inn -,our room was spotless with a huge bathroom.
Stunning views over the valley and a gloriously comfy four poster bed made for a memorable stay. We were really pleased we'd booked to have dinner as it was a very varied modern menu and all delicious. Breakfast was equally good. Add in the charming staff and we've already recommended it to friends and would return ourselves.
Great rooms and great views but staff could be more interested and responsive to customer complaints
We stayed in this hotel for one night.
On arrival we were greeted warmly by a young women and shown to a very nice room at the front of the building. The room was large, warm and it had great views over the valley below. We had dinner in the hotel and we waited over an hour for a steak which was cold when it arrived. We overlooked this as the steak was tasty and we were very hungry. We waited for a long time to order our desserts and we had only just finished these when we were encouraged to leave the dining room to allow the staff to set up for breakfast. We retired to bed shortly after this as we felt we were in the way. We had only just arrived in our bedroom when we noticed there was a very loud metalic grinding noise. On exploration of this we noticed that the very large hotel sign was swinging in the wind right outside our bedroom window. We rang down to reception to ask if we could change our rooom and we were told we couldn't and that there was nothing to be done about it. I pointed out that i was unlikely to sleep due to the noise and was again reminded that nothing could be done. I was also told that nobody else had complained. I returned to bed and spent the rest of the night awake with my fingers in my ears. The breakfast was adequate but the porridge was runny and tasteless. We were not asked to add further comment on our nights stay and the reception staff were cool when we checked out.
This was booked as a last minute booking, the accommodation was excellent, very friendly staff and the food was excellent as well, would definitely go back again.
We booked this through Late Rooms.com which actually said room only on the confirmation - was not clear on their website that breakfast was included which could put some people off.
Would love to stay during the other three seasons as the location is wonderful and it will change so much.
Was a joy to stay
A very pleasant stay in a friendly environment
All my requirements were met and I would not hesitate to recommend it and I will certainly stay there again.
Staff were very welcoming and helpful during whole time of stay.
The Inn is a delightful little secret that we now all can know about. We didn't eat there during the night as we had a family party else where, but the breakfast was top notch. Despite being an inn we were not disturbed sleeping, A peaceful backwater in a great rural location. Nice soft pillows, my wife normally has to take one with her but didn't need to use it. Only, downside is the bathroom was a bit small, but not a deterrent unless you are well above average.
