You get what you pay for and less

After booking a classic double room we got put in a room with three single beds and no windows only a sky light, it was like being in a bunker.

The staff were so few and far between we couldn't find anyone who knew anything about online bookings. It was like being back in school, queuing under letters of your surname in a large hall to be given an envelope with your key, room number and a map, I thought I'd booked ourselves on a mystery weekend by mistake and find the clue was the way to survive the ordeal. Food was first come first to help yourself, with no supervision over the food distribution, you would stick to the carpeted floor near the serve yourself drinks area and for cutlery you were left to find some that hadn't been used on the tables. Then to check out next morning not a member of staff could be found, we could see one in an office who was obviously not going to acknowledge anyone at the reception desk, so we dropped our key in a big box with a hole in the top labelled 'Keys'. I've got to say it was an experience and one I do not intend to ever repeat.
