About the hotel

Roaring log fires and a friendly atmosphere welcome you to The Somerset Arms. Our excellent and well appraised restaurant offers a delightful menu with interesting dishes created from fresh local ingredients. As a freehouse, we have the freedom to select and present the greatest ales from local breweries, of which there are many.

The utmost care is taken to ensure that the perfect pint is pulled everytime, and that there is always a wide and varied selection from which to choose. Sky Tv including Sports is available in the bar. Whether you are visiting this part of the country or are one of our lovely locals, a warm and friendly welcome awaits you at The Somerset Arms. The Somerset Arms is ideal for formal or informal meetings, at any time of the day. Coffee, tea, biscuits and locally made cakes all available together with free wireless broadband. For groups of 2 to 100. The Somerset Arms loves parties! The Somerset Arms has been a coaching inn for hundreds of years. Records suggest that as far back as the 16th century ales were served to travellers and highwayman who traversed what became the busy A350. It is named after the Duke of Somerset who was a great landowner in the area. In 2004 the village of Semington was bypassed, and for perhaps the first time in its history the road was still. This obviously had a dramatic effect on the role of The Somerset Arms, now not attracting the traveler, things had to change. In the summer of 2009, following a period of closure The Somerset Arms opened its doors again ready to offer a new service to its local customers.

Pub B&B

Old coaching inn that has been modernised with 3B&B rooms Was booked very easily and room was ready late afternoon.

Has a good restaurant with a range of options all well cooked and presented. Owners say best to book restaurant in advance because of passing trade on the Kennet and Avoncanal. Good breakfast with quality products - again good service even with low numbers to serve. This is free house and has very good selections of real ale and cider

Would stay here again
