Brilliant break

Great place to stay, breakfast good value for money, plenty of tea and coffee in the room.

Good location to use as a Base for exploring Dorset. Would definitely stay here again.

Parking was easy on this run down street in a shipping port.

The check in staff were busy also running the bar and serving food, so we're unable to provide the missing toilet roll in the shared toilet for hours after my initial complaint. In the room the floor hadn't been vacuumed and the room was tired and basic, but beds were clean and comfortable, bedding well worn but acceptable. Towels, just one each, were clean, with a daily sachet of shower gel per person. There was a choice of same sex shower blocks, one dated and tatty and the other more modern but so cramped with nowhere really to put things, and nowhere private to dress that wasn't wet, both were clean and hot. There were a few disruptive noises during the night but bearable, the curtains let a lot of light through so I woke at 4.30am sun rise, unable to get back to sleep so used my own eye mask for the second night. The free WiFi rarely connected. There were tea and coffee sachets and a kettle in the room. At breakfast coffee was only instant and the "fry up" was perfectly cooked and not at all greasy. I would never return even if you paid me, this hotel seemed to be a sailor's doss house, fine if you are a group of men in the area for work and just need somewhere to put your head. We felt an impending doom when we returned for our second night, that we had to pay up front for, and if our budget and circumstances had allowed would have definitely gone elsewhere.
