Perfect if you just need a clean, cheap, central room to explore Dublin

In need of some TLC, but for the price and location very hard to beat.

The linen was fresh and clean, which to me is probably the most important thing.

My first return to Dublin in 60 years,my worst experience staying at a hotel .

Bumped into a couple from Dublin at Edinburgh Castle asked us where we stayed in Dublin when we told them the Hotel Avondale the look on their faces said it all.

I just wonder what type of Innkeepers rules they fall under, my mattress that I did not sleep on (slept on top of the bed for 2 nights ) was so old and so badly stained, which because the sheets on the bed where so thin that when I went to get into the bed I could see the mattress stains through the sheets. I know that they say you only get what you pay for, but this was below that . My second stay in Cork was a dream in comparison and I did not have to descend down a flight of stairs to use a toilet, we had a bathroom in our room also tea and coffee in our room when we arrived, in Summary wonder why you have them on your books, sorry that I had to send this to you but I could not leave it unsaid after all you might have another couple all the way from Australia getting the same experience my son and I had to go through.
