A very nice 3 star hotel located in a nice quiet area of Bugibba. Have no hesitation in recommending
I had a thoroughly enjoyable 5 night stay at the Sunflower Hotel.
The hotel is located in a quiet residential area of Bugibba but is only a 10 minute walk from the centre. Bugibba is located in the North East of the island in St.Pauls Bay. As Malta is a relatively small island nothing is very far away and there is an excellent bus service out of Bugibba which has a bus terminus.
The staff at the Sunflower are so friendly throughout the hotel and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and adequately furnished with balconies. The breakfast buffet is continental and has plenty of choice. A full English Breakfast can be purchased for €3. There is a bar within the hotel and they have entertainment on certain nights.
Yes there will be better hotels on the island but at substantially more per night. I doubt you will find a better 3* hotel than this on Malta. I have no hesitation in recommending it and i am critical when it comes to hotels.
Lovely staff, dreadful view
The approach to the Sunflower leaves a lotto be desired.
Waste ground with derelict buildings, dog and cat faeces littering the pavement , not to mention the crumbling wall surrounding the wasteland.
The hotel is a little dated but extremely clean. The staff were very helpful and upgraded us to a superior room for our 3 night stay for only €27. The first room had obviously had a smoker in. Our second room was quite big with 2 balconies (sadly with a view of the waste ground). and very clean.
Breakfast was the usual continental but for €3 a full English could be bought. It is only a 10minute walk into the centre and the hotel provides a bus service to the main bus station
The roof top pool was filthy as was the terrace. What a let down after such clean rooms.
Would we say again. No. This was booked 2 days before our flight as we had to alter our dates and flights 3 days before our original holiday and the Pergola didn't have rooms available for our last3 days. Sunflower provided clean beds for us which was all we needed. It is a reasonably priced 3* hotel and apart from the pool just what we expected.
