Helpful home from home.
We stayed for one night at The Grove House Hotel. The room was exceptionally clean with little extras such as complimentary snacks and fruit which was most welcome. The staff were very helpful wth advice for directions etc and nothing was too much trouble. The hotal staff were most welcoming and the breakfast was of a high quality. We chose the cooked option but if we hadn't the selection of cereals, fruits, croissants and yoghurts looked delicious. We would definately chose this hotel again.

Fabulous hotel in quiet and convenient location
Just had an excellent two night stay. Room was very good, clean, nicely decorated and spacious. The room was at the back of the hotel overlooking the beautiful garden. There was a wedding reception and yet still able to sleep with the window open and the music from the disco was not overly loud.
Mixed level of service from the receptionist when we arrived to those on duty in the evening and rest of the weekend who were pleasant helpful and welcoming. Same goes for the service at breakfast. First morning it was a chore and no extra coffee or tea was offered.
The hotel is 200 yards from the railway station into Liverpool and a 15 minute journey for a cheap 3.20 return fare.
No hesitation about returning and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Second morning more coffee was offered and a full toast rack was provided.

Short visit
A pleasant welcome, room well presented and snacks provided...helpful after a long journey.
Evening meal so much better than expected, no fuss for a very late booking, good food and attentive but not too much so by waiting staff. Nice touch was I left a book on the table and the following morning I asked and not only did the first person asked know they had a book it was immediate room 8 here it is! A pleasant stay and good value for money

Generally a four star hotel masquerading as a three star, just one small moan.
Having stayed at The Grove House previously we knew what to expect, and were not disappointed, apart from one aspect.
We dined in on three nights, and the Chef's selection of vegetables did not alter. Roast potatoes, Caulflower Cheese(not enough cheese), mange tout, and rustic cut carrots.
There are so many wonderful vegetables available there could be a different selection every night for a fortnight.
I suppose many of the diners were there just for a meal in the Restaurant, but for residents it was just plain boring.
Apart from that a most enjoyable experience. Staff very friendly and helpful with directions and routes to places of interest, and nothing too much trouble.

Liverpool weekend, at Birkenhead
Chose hotel due to location, free parking compared to Liverpool city centre, Metro short distance from hotel £3.00 day return Liverpool city centre, Staff very friendly and helpful, excellent breakfast! Only quibble was room faced main road, no net curtains so had to draw curtains during day time and evening for privacy & modesty! Excellent gardens at rear of hotel, with quality chairs/tables. Would recomend and stay here again.
