Weekend away

Was looking to stay in Liverpool City Centre when came across this hotel.

The previous reviews

decided our stay and it didn't disappoint. The food was excellent the room was superior even though I had booked a standard room, The staff were friendly and helpful the receptionist booked a taxi to the train station so we could go into Liverpool on the Saturday. We would stay again.

A lovely stay

This was a lovely hotel.

The staff were very polite and even carried my bags up to my room for me after check in which I though was very thoughtful

the room was one of the nicest ive stayed in for a long time in this price bracket, clean, comfortable and spacious. a very pleasant experience and I will be returning next time I am working in the area.

Good quality, good value

I found the RiverHill to be a stylish, friendly and clean hotel.

Our twin room was well appointed, with a few nice touches to make the stay more pleasant.

Explore The Wirral

We stayed at this hotel as it was one of a few left on the LateRooms site for this particular date.

We had planned to stay in Liverpool for a couple of days after dropping our grandson off in Manchester. As the City centre hotels were full we decided to check out the Wirral - a part of the country we had not visited.

We found the hotel with ease having left Liverpool by the Mersey Tunnel. On our arrival there was a wedding in progress & the lawn was decorated with beautiful people. The receptionist was pleasant gave us our key & pointed us in the right direction. We were not told of any lounge or bar only where to go for breakfast if we wanted it next day.

We had a groundfloor room in a modern extention. Room was very pleasant, light & airy with stylish decor. Bathroom with shower over bath very clean & smelling of freshness, but one had to break ones back to reach the loo roll. Tea & coffee facilities but NO teaspoons. A tiny basket with 1 pkt biscuits, 2 small kitkats, a pkt of crisps & an orange!. We looked all over but could find NO folder with any details about the Hotel or the surrounding area. As we had arrived mid afternoon & the weather was the best this year we desided to head off to coast but we were disappointed that there was no local map available at reception or any leaflets promoting any of the local resorts. Have AA map will travel & off we set. We ate at a local restaurant as the hotel busy with the wedding could only offer us a table at 5.30 or 9pm. We had assumed we would be able to choose a time eat. It was our 30 anniversary as I had mentioned on the phone the previous day, when the lady could have told me about the wedding catering. The restaurant was closed Sunday night but we were offered a cold platter. We did get to eat breakfast there & the young waiter could not have been more helpful (finding tourist leaflets that were hidden away somewhere!) The menu was not particularly informative but we were served criossants warm & my husband asked for & received a poached egg on toast, extra toast & marmite which pleased him & set him up for the day. The beds were extremely comfy the bird song smashing but we could have done without all the bottles etc being emptied & what seemed to be the gravel outside being flattened at some silly 'o clock.

It seemed to us that, at present, the Hotel caters for funtions & business men not the regular tourist. This is a shame because the Hotel has the MasterChef connection & is central to the Wirral which we found to be a beautiful part of the country to explore.

Little Gem

This is my second stay at the Riverhill hotel and it really is a little gem, the location is quiet, the bedroom and bathroom are spotless.

Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend a stay if you are anywhere near Birkenhead
