The Embassy Hotel

My partner and I decided on a last minute stay for the New Year's Eve, we've only booked hotel the night before.

Hotel was nice, clean and quiet, although it was NYE and we were expecting it may be a bit noisy in a fully booked hotel. Free parking just outside the hotel and very short walk to the beach, restaurants etc. Member of staff who we dealt with was very helpful and competent. We will happily stay at The Embassy again.

Required room at very short notice due to family bereavement

Very good accommodation for price at very short notice.

Only met one staff member, he was polite and friendly. Comfortable bed with everything you need for one night stay.

Central hotel that makes a good base for the area.

The hotel was a good base, with on street parking, there was usually a space but it's a shame it wasn't permit holders only.

There was a very nice gentleman manager there for most of the four days we stayed and compliments to him he was excellent very professional, however there was also a lady that took charge also and she really was shocking, on her mobile, moaning about staff ( I really don't want this on holiday!) not very professional. Cleaning staff all excellent , we didn't eat there as we we are vegan and there wasn't an option. But to be fair we didn't ask. Room was lovely very spacious.

All in all a good base, they just need to present a better image staff wise.

The area at night didn't feel entirely safe for three ladies but we tended to use the bar after nine .

Good value, friendly staff

Clean, cheap, and cheerful, a wonderful Grade II listed building, but the recent redecoration can't entirely conceal the decay beneath (new bathroom fittings sagging off the wall, etc).

Somewhat understaffed - the staff were all friendly and helpful, but it seemed like most of the time just one person did reception, bar, and even food.

We liked it - best value in town, and decor with a sense of nostalgic elegance. Well worth the visit.
