Good value, friendly staff
Clean, cheap, and cheerful, a wonderful Grade II listed building, but the recent redecoration can't entirely conceal the decay beneath (new bathroom fittings sagging off the wall, etc). Somewhat understaffed - the staff were all friendly and helpful, but it seemed like most of the time just one person did reception, bar, and even food.
We liked it - best value in town, and decor with a sense of nostalgic elegance. Well worth the visit.
