Reviews - The Cadogan

5AA Assessed Small Hotel Ratings explained
75 Sloane Street , London, SW1X 9SG
A luxury boutique hotel perfectly placed on Sloane Street, The Cadogan combines English hospitality at its best with home comforts reminiscent of a private address. Located in the heart of Knightsbridge - arguably London’s premier location, the hotel was once home to Lillie Langtry consort to King Edward VII and the London address of Oscar Wilde.

Amidst this bustling city street lies a private garden reserved for guests of the hotel and surrounding residents, fully equipped with tennis courts, this secluded area is a serene escape.

At 125 years of age, The Cadogan shares its surrounding streets with some of the finest retail and designer names. Hermes, Cartier, Harrods and Harvey Nichols to name but a few are all a few steps away. Other local attractions include The Natural History Museum; one of the most beautiful buildings in London, both inside and out and the Tate Gallery; housing one of the country’s greatest art collections.

History
The hotel is home to a seductive history. Built in 1887 the hotel was once home to the actress Lillie Langtry. It was here that her liaisons with Edward, future King of England took place. Room 118 was also the scene of Irish playwrights, Oscar Wilde’s infamous arrest.

Great!
I booked a room at the last minute to take my Girlfriend out for the evening in London's most exclusive areas! The hotel looked fantastic, and the price was nothing to sniff at either! Very Reasonable.
Very helpful staff upon Check In, who actually upgraded us to a much bigger, and nicer room for a mere £40!
Situated just minutes from some of Chelsea's finest shops and restaurants, this hotel is great for a weekend visit, or even just the one night like we did!
All in all, a great, stylish, clean, quiet, and more importantly enjoyable place to stay!
9/10!

My worst night in London in 50 years
My wife and I stayed in room 508 at the Cadogan Hotel London on January 4/5. The room was miniscule and super heated with no ventilation. The windows were sealed shut!
The bathroom lighting was so poor I had to shave by touch.
The reception staff were polite but untrained. They had no idea about Congestion Charges or how they are paid.. Eventually they found a telephone number for me to call.

Rooms near lift shaft are not fit for purpose!
We stayed in room 501 and take my advise this room and I guess any that are near the lift shaft are not fit to be stayed in. The lift is a 40's style lift with lots of character but sadly the noise is unbearable throughout the night meaning a lack of sleep (and I'm a heavy sleeper!!). We relayed this on departure and sadly the complaint came as no surprise to staff and management.... Response: "if you book with us again we will put you in a different room". Helpful, NOT!
