Holiday Inn PLYMOUTH

Very disappointed with the disabled facilities at the hotel.

It was most unsatisfactory that it was necessary to have to travel to the Pent House level to use a disabled toilet after checking out and whilst waiting for transport.

Very nice in some areas, a little tired in others.

The leisure facilities were good and I enjoyed the penthouse dining.

The bathroom was pretty tired with various broken fixtures roughly repaired or not at all. Why in this day and age, I'm paying to get high speed broadband in an executive room I do not understand. It feels like penny pinching.

Dinner very disappointing with over cooked salmon, poor selection of vegetables and tasteless fruit salad.

Lovely, helpful staff and great views over the harbour.

10/10 everything we wanted

I used to live in Plymouth and regularly walk past the front doors of this place without a second thought.

I was really surprised and very impressed. Amazing facilities, perfectly suited to light travellers as so much is provided with the room for use on site (towels for the pool, shampoo, hairdryer, etc.). Onsite parking is a real bonus too. Staff were really welcoming, helpful and friendly. We only stayed for one night but overall thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend.

Front Entrance

We were at the Holiday Inn Plymouth on the weekend of the storm Imogen and I am particularly writing about Sunday 7th Feb.

For some reason the management had decreed that the front lobby doors should remain in the open position which meant that every time someone entered or exited the interior doors the cold wind just blew in. We had to sit in the lobby with our coats on it was so cold. All seats in the smaller rear lounge were occupied as everyone had tried to move away from the draughts. Luckily on the Monday, the day of the worst weather the doors had been closed, but were open again on Tuesday. WHY??

Lift Problems

Upon checking into the hotel I was very pleased with the warm welcome.

All seemed to be going fine until the lifts packed up, meaning I was constantly trudging up six flights of stairs to my room every single time, which played havoc with my asthma.

Room for improvement

Didn't think much to the room, poor lighting, no option to open a window.

There were lamps that didn't work, relying on one roof spot light to light up the whole room, the reception area was very nice however the refurb didn't look like it had stretched any further than this zone. Overall pretty disappointed considering the price paid.
