Unacceptable condition of room for an executive
Red wine up wall on skirting boards and carpet.
No hand wash/soap in bathroom, cracked unusable tea cup and broken tile in bathroom, photos to prove all. No bath option which was disappointing. Room service were quick to appear, cleaned the skirting board and brought the soap. We were then shown another room but the view was disappointing so said we would stick with the original room. Minutes later the duty manager called and offered 2 further rooms one being an upgrade to a suite, again we refused as the room we had was in a great location. The duty manager then offered us free cocktails to which we declined as we don't drink cocktails and if we had we could have got 2 4 1 anyway. He then asked if we had booked our dinner reservation to which we replied we hadn't, ( how could we with everything going on ) nothing more was said. 15 mins back in our room and we received 2 complimentary glasses of Prosecco. So our relaxing break started with an hour of disruption and dare I say stress, all this could have been avoided if the room had been cleaned and checked over properly.
Four Star ???
Not as good as we expected room needed redecoration furniture old and tired
and bed uncomfortable we expected more from a four star hotel the best part was the staff who were very helpful.
Really lovely stay in a great city.
very convenient to shops and station
a short stay for two in Chester
Looked for a hotel with good proximity to Chester town centre and this was excellent, just a short walk from a secure car park.
The hotel reception was fine and the staff over the two days were excellent. The room was very comfortable and welcoming. However my only reservation would be the bathroom. It was tiny and looked to be an afterthought, with maybe a gymnast in mind. You could not stand at the washbasin as it backed on to the shower-screen, the toilet was fit only for a small child and the shower/bath was bordering on dangerous. Maybe this room could be let for less and the limitations mentioned at booking. Apart from this my only other fault would be the price at the bar, though there must be hundreds of options within a square mile. The location itself could not be better with the many attractions Chester has to offer, only minutes away.
Room and breakfast
Room quality overall good but window faulty blew open 0300.
After fixing!. could not fall asleep again for nearly an hour. Breakfast although good quality was little lacking in value. On;ly two rounds bread for 4 pots of preserve. Would not pay £17.50 if was not inclusive of stay.
A gem of a hotel just outside the city walls, so really convenient for pottering round the city.
Lovely, well equipped room and friendly, helpful staff. Can't fault it, will definitely be staying again!
Nice stay very central rooms v dated
Hotel very central, easy parking £10 for 24 hrs, twin room very small and very dated, dark brown furniture, but comfy beds lovely pillows and all very clean.
You pay for the location
Cracked sink and damaged bath panel spoiled an otherwise nice bathroom.
Room worn but comfy.
Having stayed here before it was as expected. A well situated friendly hotel.
Could hotel make available a pack of cards or board game for guests to borrow when staying in due to wet weather?
