Slow check in
I'm not sure what the problem was but check in was slow.
Enough staff, not busy but the systems seemed to be a bit of a mess
What an awful start to what was a weekend away with my daughter on a shopping trip.
So many steps to get to hotel with suitcases not easy. Room was damp and smelt and although manager did change room didn't really want to stay and he did agree to accommodate my request to cancel second night. Cannot fault the manager and staff, just wouldn't even contemplate staying in a Great Western Hotel again. They need to get better lighting and mattresses that are newer. Left Hotel at 9am following morning after little quality sleep.
Pleasant enough hotel, although decor is rather tired.
Difficult to sleep however due to irregular mechanical noises throughout the night--sounded like bathroom extractor fans in adjacent rooms, but went on throughout the night turning on and off every couple of minutes.
I was very pleasently surprised by the clean, bright decor of the room.
It looked as if it had been recently refurbished and is the best hotel room that I have stayed in over the past three years. The staff were welcoming and helpful. I had only one breakfast; my only gripe would be that the fried eggs on the passe were rather tired; the scrambled eggs were fine. Generally an enjoyable breakfast. I also had a look at the dinner menu and found it interesting. If had not had already booked dinners elsewhere I believe that I would have enjoyed the experience.
helpful staff anve value for money room
Helpful staff as we had cupcakes to transport from the room the most directly to the car...
Doors which are normally locked and a temporary place to park up were allowed by the Manager for ease of transportation and this was appreciated. Room rate was just ideal as we arrived late and left early so was on budget for us.
Thinks it is better than it is.
We stayed here while going to a concert at the National Bowl.
I think this is the only reason we would ever go there again. Geographically the location is good for escaping the traffic after a concert, but other than that I wouldn't stay here again. The staff greet you as if this is a high class hotel, but the rooms feel a bit grubby, shower curtains not nice, mattress really uncomfortable. We were in room 2 which was near reception and the front of the hotel, which meant we could hear the conversations of all the smokers who stood out the front during the night. We could also hear what sounded like an extractor fan clicking on and off every few minutes all night. It wasn't our bathroom. We thought that next door were in and out of their bathroom for a while, but the noise continued all night, so it was something else. We didn't stay for breakfast - too expensive. Happy to leave in the morning.
Nice hotel, good location
we booked the room last minute for the Foo Fighters concert at Milton Keynes Bowl.
Cost us £20 in a taxi to get as close as possible. This was fine. Room was £100 for the night but did not include breakfast. Room was clean and tidy. There was still water in the kettle, don't know how long that had been there. The towels were really nice though.
relaxing stay with spa and breakfast
everything worked well.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool and gym were fine open good hours.Breakfast was tasty
BEST WESTERN Buckingham Hotel
Ideal location if your going to the racing in Silverstone which we did and will book in again next time we go.
Everything was good about our stay.
It was a stop off for a show and ticked all the boxes.
