Bentnick Hotel
A fine boutique hotel.
The reception is fused with the bar and that is a bit confusing but other than that, i could not fault it. There is no elevator so if you carry a lot of things or kids and baggies the hotel is not for you, unless you are happy to carry stuff up the stairs.
Food is fine but the highlight for the hotel are the family/en suite rooms which are spacious and nicely laid out.

Cheap but lacking
We weren't aware that there was a 10pm late limit on checking in, so had to curtail an evening meeting event to reach the hotel in time (albeit they hung on until 10.30, to be fair, but this is still unusually restrictive).
Whilst the hotel is recently and tastefully refurbished, the bed was poor and uncomfortable, and the bedding cheap and quite nasty. I still have a sore neck from the rubber pillows supplied, despite requesting better ones in advance upon booking.
The receptionist/barman omitted to advise of the wifi access code (there was no information in the room itself, this fact only discovered when it was too late to revert to reception as they have gone home. So I texted the proprietors on the mobile numbers advertised, but only got a reply the following day, shortly prior to checkout. Not much help then!
The saving grace is the low(ish) price, and the close proximity to the railway station (you literally couldn't be closer, being simply across the road from the entrance), but don't expect normal hotel service standards here...

Convenient, excellent food
Right by the station making it very convenient for both travel and the courthouses. Room was small but very well appointed. Signs up suggest it might get noisy at weekends but was perfectly quiet midweek. Real surprise was the food - which was cooked fresh and genuinely delicious. Much more than I expected from a small (relatively) budget midweek stay.

Lovely stay!
The hotel is in a fab location if you are travelling by train, within easy walking distance of Nottingham City Centre. The room was lovely. Full breakfast wasn't included but tea and toast was, which was a lovely surprise. Staff were super pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic hotel and great value
I initially booked a standard room, not realising this wasn't an ensuite however after emailing them they were more than happy to change the room and I would pay the extra on arrival. They put us up in a fantastic room, very spacious and clean. The decor was beautiful, modern yet classic, very tasteful. The service was great and they were willing to look after out luggage before check-in and check-out. The location was perfect and I would definitely go back again.
