Not so chic boutique hotel
Recently stayed at this hotel in what they called superior double room and got charged £179 per night. The room was very small, when you walked around the bed you constantly hit something, there were iron burns on the carpet, the window had a catch missing so wouldn't close properly, this in turn lead to another problem as the bathroom door wouldn't stay shut with the window open! Shower head wouldn't stay up without holding it when showering . Getting in and out of the bath to have a shower was also quite a feat as the shower screen didn't fold back and the slope of the bath meant you had to lean over grab the towel rail or just fall onto the toilet. Breakfast both mornings was a buffet style affair, a couple of times both mornings they ran out plates , then food in the hot trays so staff constantly runniing around. After ordering tea with breakfast three times it arrived after we had finished eating the service was dire, they only have 30 bedrooms and when all this was happening there were a maximum of 10 people in the breakfast room. This was charged for as an extra on top of the room fee. When we checked in the receptionist was very pleasant but omitted to tell us there was a wedding reception going on all day, which meant we couldn't access the gardens(it was a lovely day as well) also that evening we couldn't sit in the bar or get served easily as the evening guests arrived for the function downstairs so there was just no room. It would have just been nice to have been informed so we could have planned our agenda around this information. All of these things were fed back at the time to the on duty staff who said they would look into it .Anyway just so you know this is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review on a hotel and I stay in a lot all over the world. Way too expensive for what it is , I have stayed in nicer cheap chain hotels but we wanted a different experience and thought this Boutique Hotel would fit the bill. Not sure if we just had a bad experience there, but I wouldn't recommend .

Room was with a nice view but could be more attention to detail eg : kettle with a limescale
Overall nice hotel, had a room with a nice view . Although a bit bigger tv and suitable baby cot bed should be placed in the room, some activities for kids .Cleanliness changing linen and soup should be on the daily basis Friendly staff .

pleasantly surprised
Booked a family room for my husband,3yr old daughter and myself. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and very happy to see we had a sea view too. The room was very clean with lots of space for our daughter to run around, she absolutely loved the room too. There was plenty of tea and coffee and also biscuits every day. Breakfast was good and the staff were very welcoming even giving our daughter some toys to play with. Overall a pleasant stay and would stay again.

Stayed one night only. Bedrooms very noisy as you could hear upstairs walking about. No wifi in bedrooms. Staff very helpful and cheery.

Extremely friendly staff.
Unfortunately the weather was awful. Our stay was very good. Unfortunately the rooms above use on the next floor had extremely noisy floorboards which interrupted our sleep on two of the three nights stay.
