Many high points but odd taste..
I stayed here mainly because of previous positive reviews and overall it didn't disappoint. The location was excellent, just a couple of hundred yards from Southport pier and the incredible beach, the owner/manager (Anthony) very helpful guy, breakfast was good. We stayed for two nights and changed room after the first evening (because of the 'king' size bed actually being a twin with one side sloping away - also I don't like staying in a room that is also the fire escape with a breakable fire lock on the door). Then the odd taste bit. A lot of thought has clearly gone into creating a striking visual theme in each room with b/w flower wallpaper, which has a wow factor when you walk in, but more attention is needed to the quality of the room. Tired doors need replacing, as does the outdated furniture - and the loose carpet on the stairs. It may be to some people's taste but I don't need pointless fluffy pillows in my room or a cuddly bear that lights up. But this is a minor whine, call it constructive criticism - I like the place, but think it needs to be a little less fussy.

Very happy. One of the best places we have stayed at. Very welcoming on arrival. First time we have been offered tea or coffee and cake on arrival which was very welcome after a journey from Devon. Room and en suite very clean, one of the best we have been in. Would definitely book again whenever we get a chance to do so and highly recommend it.

A great little stay.
We had a three night stay at Sunnyside, and were very impressed with the whole experience, from the stylishness and cleanliness of the room to the quality of the breakfast and the friendliness of the staff. Would definitely stay again.

Very good B&B - central and great hospitality
Very friendly service on arrival. Room was good - very cold but then it was a cold night- heating may need a little improvement but bed was very comfortable.
The owner (?) was very polite and helpful - nothing was too much trouble . He also cooked breakfast - it was a little slow but there was no real rush and it was worth waiting for as there was a lot of choice and good standard food was served. Would stay again if in the area
