77% would recommend it to a friend
First impression wasn't great, a bit run down, but the 2 french ladies that ran it were very friendly and helpful.
It was very good value for money and the breakfast was sufficient.
My single room was lovely. Good quality for the price i paid. would definitely stay again
I was able to check in any time after mid-day which was nice since I had a lot of bags that I wanted to drop off before going out for the day.
The lady at reception was very helpful in showing me where my room was and explaining where the side entrance to the building was incase I wanted to come and go late at night, Room was a good size for one person. Had a nice desk with a mirror so I could easily do my makeup and hair in the morning. It is a very nice looking building also from the inside and outside. I would definitely stay again and will be booking with them again when I stay in Southport after Christmas.
Would stay again
Had everything I needed.
The lady on reception was lovely and very helpful. Thank you :)
The hotel was comfortable and friendly.
The breakfast was very good with a good choice of food. The room was adequate but was a little short of storage space. Overall, I would recommend this hotel as being good value for money and friendly.
Two Star Accomodation
The hotel could do with a refurb and some TLC but apart from that it was okay the manager was very friendly and courteous in every way, the breakfast was quite nice, but we did understand that the hotel was only rated as a two star, so you get what you pay for, but if we visit Southport again we probably would stay at the hotel as its okay for a short stay.
Friendly guesthouse in good location
When staying at a B&B I look for 3 things.
Quiet room, comfortable bed and great breakfast. The Balmoral had 2 out of 3. The breakfast was a big let down. Having said that the staff were very friendly and welcoming and guesthouse was in great location for our trip to Royal Birkdale.
Basic for the money
Better than a Prince
Although the hotel is a bit tired the room was very good. other areas of the hotel are a bit dated.Breakfast was okay with a good choice.Pleasant proprietors. A complete change from our previous stay at the Prince of Wales. The Balmoral was much better!
Friendly staff and value for money.
Breakfast nicely laid out.
Bed comfort and food
We were a family of 5 - mother and 4 daughters.
The rooms were generally fine, but 2 of the mattresses were worn out. The food was fine, but the drinks could have been improved - watered down orange juice and coffee were disappointing. The hotel owners were very pleasant though.
