would think twice before staying again.

After taking on a new job I had to go on a 2 day training course which involved staying in a hotel on my own for the first time.

I felt reassured that once I checked in I wouldn't have to go out until I checked out. On arrival I was greeted by a friendly member of staff I then checked into my room and read all the info in your files. I realised there was no information on WiFi so looked for a phone for reception but that was also missing. I went to reception and they were very helpful and bought a phone to me. I then went to the bar and ordered a meal which was bought very quickly and didn't look very appetising ( belly of pork) I asked for sauce to go with it and the waitress went to get me some, I tried to cut it but it was solid and when the waitress returned I explained it wasn't nice and I couldn't eat it and she replied I know it looks horrible. She offered to get me something else but I really didn't want to try again. So I went to reception to explain so it didn't go on my bill and the receptionist who seemed very young couldn't of helped enough and suggested a looked pub which was very nice. He even asked on my return if I was OK and if I had enjoyed the meal. I wasn't holding out much hope for breakfast after the evening experience and was ready to go to the nearest supermarket but I arrived and was greeted by a very friendly waiter who sat me at a table and explained the breakfast and said if I would like anything else he would try and get it. I asked if they had smoked salmon and he said he would do salmon and scrambled egg I was very pleased with his service. He came over to me a few minutes later to apologise but someone had forgot to order smoked salmon ( which isn't the end of the world I explained I would have toast ) so he got me scrambled egg and I had some of your homemade bread which is very nice. Your staff are trying there best in what I feel are hard circumstances the hotel looks tired the bar doesn't flow right I felt uncomfortable sitting in it. My bedroom was nice but the bath was rusty on the whole length of it and the bin had its lid ripped off so it made it look tired. There was a high pitch noise in the whole building for the first couple of hours which is not relaxing and a member of staff said it does that for a while it's the boiler. Your staff are the best part of my stay the waiter got the price of my breakfast taken off the bill which was over and above what he had to do I can't praise your staff enough.

Good value, large rooms

After a day of shopping at Cheshire Oaks, me and my daughter arrived at the hotel.

I choose this hotel over the Premier inn, as it had spa facilities. The reviews on trip adviser seem very unfair.

The rooms were large spacious and clean, the linen matched the pictures on there website. The breakfast was very good, they made me poached eggs to go with my English breakfast, there was the usual fruit, yogurt, cerials and pastries on offer. The spa had a steam room and sauna attached, the pool was larger than what the picture looks like. This hotel was very good value for money and I would recommend it to friends and family.

Great place to stay and staff were fantastic

Lovely room and leisure facilities.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Our room was very hot though so didn't get the best sleep but the staff were great at finding fan and helping us cool it down

Would definitely recommend

Ate in the bar and thought food was average though

Good stay worth it for anyone room and staff all good

Had a lovely stay here with my partner while we visited Chester.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool area could do with a little bit of an update but over all never had any issues during my stay.

Chilling weekend

The hotel was lovely clean and the staff were nice.

We are in the restaurant on the first evening and although there was only us and one other couple in the soup came out cold. The rest of the food was good hot and teasty we felt a little expensive for what you got. Breakfast was great hot and good value.

Would I stay again.... NOPE

Below are the reasons why I would not choose to stay at this hotel again: Called the front desk on three occasions, on different days at different times and there was no answer.

No iron in room and no answer at front desk when calling to request one.

No hot water to shower with on last day of stay. Has to use another room (that was previously used and only the bathroom had been cleaned up a bit) down the hall to take a shower in. Not ideal. Then was told I would be compensated in a reduction of cost on the room only to be offered a bottle of wine when checking out.

No toilet brush in the bathroom.

Very poor room quality, marks and stains on furniture, poor repair work to the bath and holes in the wall around around plug sockets.

Great one night stopover

The hotel was lovely and clean, easy to find and nice and quiet.

The two best points for me about the hotel were; the room had a double and a single so my step son could have a proper bed rather than a sofa bed which makes him feel a bit more special and is a better night sleep. Secondly the breakfast was amazing and the staff were lovely. The lady behind the hot counter area was so friendly, chatting to my step son and answering his many questions. Overall enjoyable stay!

The room was not cleaned when we arrived and stank of curry.

There were no robes or toiletries in the bathroom. The room was a family room and not a suite. After asking to be moved and being given a less expensive executive double room I received no refund of the difference. my girlfriend was kicked out of the room leaving her standing in the corridor when housekeeping came to rectify the room not being cleaned. I was charged for drinks I did not have and on the morning of departure as I was about to make my complaints a woman also staying in the hotel came down in a flood of tears after finding someone asleep in her room and being yelled at by housekeeping. all in all it was a shambles. I booked it wanting to treat myself and my girlfriend on our weekend away and I get a better experience in a travelodge when working away. It is the worst hotel experience I have ever had.
