Excellent hotel and choice for each visit to Budapest

I have stayed here many times.

Good location for Western part of Budapest. Service is good and rooms are spacious. Food is good at the restaurant or bar and the receptionists are attentive. Room pricing is very competitive and choose to return here without looking at other hotels now.

Excellent again

An excellent hotel.

We stayed here because of a meeting in Százhallombatta which is to the southwest of Budapest making the Buda location very useful and trouble free to get out of the city. Price is fantastic, facilities are excellent/very good and a good view over the back of the castle district.

Recommended for a stay which this is now my third or fourth at this hotel.

Smashing hotel, very friendly staff, close to castle area and easy access to metro

We had a very enjoyable 2night stay, very friendly staff.

The breakfast was buffet style, reasonably priced and good quality. The weather was mild and the same temp as the uk, we found the bedroom very hot which didn't cool even with heating off and windows open, maybe because we were on the top floor...heat rising. Next time we would ask for a lower or cooler room.

Bargain accomodation - close to all public transport

The Mercure Buda is a typically modern 4 star hotel, well heated, which you need in Dec, with helpful staff.

Rooms were surprisingly inexpensive. Ask for an upper room with views of castle hill. It is relatively close to the centre of Budapest on the buda side of the river, but you will need to use public transport to make best use of your stay. The metro is two mins away and buses and trams pass by on a regular basis. Main criticism is the lack of eating establishments within close proximity, if you are looking to combine a walk with eating out in the evenings. We used the much publicised Bistro Deryne, which is about 300m away. If I was to visit Budapest again, I would probably stay on the pest side, nearer to the centre, but would undoubtedly have to pay a lot more for the privilege.
