Good value independent hotel
The bed was comfortable and I slept very well. The room was quiet ( I was at the rear of the hotel). The room had a phone, kettle, soap and shampoo, hairdryer and free Wifi. The bathroom looked pretty new and had a large shower cubicle. Plenty of hot water. Shaver socket in the bathroom didn't work (disconnected because of Elf and Safety?). The TV remote was a replacement and worked - more or less! The cooked breakfast was excellent - cooked to order, so piping hot and portions were generous. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is a little way from the stations (Central, Bank Quay) - a short taxi ride. There is a big car park. Overall very good value and a nice change from the endless blandness of the mid-range hotel chains.

Room was very comfortable and although we fronted the main road there was no real problem with noise. The first floor of the hotel was a little like a maze and almost gave the impression of being a hostel of some kind as the landings were very narrow.
The hotel is clearly going through some refurb work and as a result was a little untidy, but this didn't affect the stay at all.
Ate in the restaurant and the food was all good and reasonably priced. We were the ones in the restaurant come 10pm on a Saturday which did worry us a little, but everything was fine. The bar was quiet and so was the hotel in general.
Good value for money and would definitely consider it again.

Good Location......Needs Some Updating
Hotel looks better in pictures than it actually is........the rooms are a little tired with dirty marks and damaged paintwork, and the bathrooms are equipped with mixer style showers which lead to a lot of yelps from being scalded or frozen - constant manual adjustment being needed to avoid this. The bathroom extractor fans are also a joy to behold.......obviously not cleaned for some considerable time (rm 22). Having said that, the hotel is undergoing some refurbishment (not advised at any time prior to booking) and so some problems may be addressed. Hotel staff friendly enough. Warning - don't attempt to use the "do not disturb" signs, as the door handles are too close to the frame meaning that the signs twist and the cleaners cannot determine whether to enter or not - our room missed being cleaned because of this (although the cleaner did leave essential items outside). Breakfast is only served until 09:00hrs - big bonus is that there is plenty of free parking.

Good value for money
Some of the hotel seemed to be undergoing refurbishment so it was a bit scruffy in some of the communal areas but the room was quite nice. It was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The only fault I could find inside the room was a shower that was very difficult to adjust the temperature and, when it was right, ran pretty slowly.

It was okay
Easy to find, parking to the side and access from the back; nice garden at the rear if you've the time to enjoy it; Accommodation was as billed; Cooked breakfast made to order so give yourself a little time; Shower could have been a little stronger; To turn the TV, you need to flick on the master switch above the headboard.
