Hastal Prague

Stayed 4 nights in June around time of flooding.

City centre and hotel unaffected, couple of roads and a bridge closed (not close by). Hotel arranged taxi pick up perfectly. Room on 5th floor nicely decorated but no windows only skylight high up, nice & quiet though. Breakfast was adequate, but nothing fantastic. No bar or restaurant open - they said due to floods, but all bars and restaurants in locality were open and functioning normally. Linen & towels unchanged throughout stay - they said due to floods?.

Overall 3 star max.

Excellent hotel in the middle of the Old Town

Booked this hotel for a stop over in Prague.

On arrival found receptionist very helpful, and we were able to drop our bags at 10 in the morning to enable us to spend time looking around Prague. The hotel is in the middle of Old Town so within walking distance of eveything we wanted to see. Our room was spotless with a comfortable bed and what appeared to be a newly refurbished shower room. Breakfast was buffet style with an excellent selection of cheeses, meats etc. My only complaint is that the orange juice was poor quality. A hot breakfast was also available but I didn't try that. Definitely somewhere we'd return to and recommend to friends.

I understand the polarised reviews

Before we went to the hotel we wondered how the reviews could be either amazing or terrible.

I now understand. The room was very pleasant and the hotel very well located 5 mins from the main square but quiet enough not to be disturbed by the hustle and bustle of this busy city. Our initial welcome was very friendly. However, once we declined to spend our time in prague on an expensive 6 hour tour we found customer service was poor, even being told at one point the man on reception was too busy to talk speak to us even though there was nobody else waiting and he was not on the phone. He may have been having a bad few days, but I found him rude and unwelcoming. Luckily it didnt really detract from the stay. I probably wouldnt stay here again though.

Unbeatable value for money for the location.

Having stayed here before it was my first choice as it is a great location for the very centre of Prague and is great value for money.

Had one of their slighter smaller rooms this time but was still more than adequate for a short stay though would probably select one of their larger rooms if travelling with someone and for longer period. Think it may have had a recent cosmetic refurb which only adds to making it such a good stay!

Excellent Location

This hotel was ideally suited for walking around the sights of Prague.

The service was 24hours and catered for your every need. We did find the room too warm on our first night and staff were unable to switch the air-conditioning on but this was rectified by the next day and staff were very helpful with all our queries.
