Lacking for a 4 star
Receptionist was very helpful, booked a taxi for us for later that evening and upgraded us to a deluxe room.
Room itself was a bit dated but clean and spacious with a big bed. A strong smell of paint throughout. The usual toiletries but no dressing gown or slippers. The fire alarm went off at 4.30am without any explanation or reassurance from staff. At breakfast the next morning, after 20 minutes waiting at our table, we eventually managed to get the attention of the waiter to request coffee. The coffee, when it eventually arrived in a large coffee pot, was almost pure water, THE worst coffee we have ever had the bad luck to taste. The buffet looked like an amazing spread but it was only ok. There was no offer of freshly cooked eggs, the only offering was scrambled eggs from the buffet which were drowning in liquid. On checkout when I mentioned that we were very tired after being woken by the fire alarm at 4.30am the receptionist was not very sympathetic, she more or less said 'well it is good to know that it works'. Well obviously it doesn't if it is going off without any fire. I have since checked reviews of the hotel since I have come home and I see that it is not the first time that the fire alarm has gone off during the night scaring the life out of guests and disrupting sleep. The hotel is in a convenient location but I would not return. There are plenty of other hotels in that area that I would try next time.
Inability to order taxis at the times requested
Had to change rooms
Hi The hotel is rather dated my first room was of bad standard and had to be moved.
2nd room better but still rather shabby. Finishes not good
Remote had tape on it and buttons missing
Bathroom better than before but still not of 4 star standard
Breakfast was medium
No one stopped asked me for hot drink until I waited and then stopped a waiter
Quality of hot breakfast was also medium
I would not stay here again unfortunately
The hotel exceeded our expectation.
The comfort of the accommodation was fantastic.
Only a few minutes taxi ride from the centre. Would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel.
No table lamp.
Room lighting poor
Excellent location, helpful staff
only drawback was the limited WIFI availability.
This could put you out.
Visit with old friends in Dublin
Took in a Leinster match.
Hotel excellent spot for RDS (Leinster) and Aviva stadium. Lobby was cold. Staff were friendly. Only issue was with WiFi which wasnt available in the room without paying extra. However, the hotel did provide free wifi for 20 minutes per day.
Local places on Shelbourne Road for breakfast.
Good for Business and Leisure, but Wi-Fi was poor
Standard of rooms was very good.
The only problem I have with the hotel was the poor Wi-Fi.
Why are they still charging for wifi, in this day and age free WiFi is now universal.
Room was great, easy access to the city and friendly staff
