Would stay again
Room was a good size (room 9)
Bed was extremely comfortable , 2 great nights sleep
Private parking area was a huge bonus , saved a lot of driving around to park.
Ate in the tapas bar on first night , food was great
Breakfast tasty and plenty of it
The only negative thing I can say is that as you have to get to your room through the back entrance up a metal stairway the rear of the building could be made a little more inviting but it didn't spoil our stay

Central, Clean and Friendly
Great find above a tapas bar. A little noisy at night time as the room overlooked the busy main road, but very clean, staff friendly, comfortable bed, nice big room and the shower was great!

Very Good Budget Accomodation in Lancaster
Overall very good accomodation for the price. stayed there for one night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room (No.2) was clean and comfortable with a little traffic noise from the street outside in the morning. We had a drink in the bar which was comfortable with a nice atmosphere. The one negative was the entrance through the back of the hotel which was a bit shabby and could be doing with a facelift. Free parking at the back of the hotel was a plus also. Overall this accomodation was good and i would have no problem with recommending it for a short stay.

Reasonable rate, a bit rough around the edges
The Royal is fine for a night or so, however the breakfast was the same plate for everyone and lacking options. The bar/breakfast area was fairly grubby with lots of dust around the ledges. I'm sure the kitchen would be revealing.
Rooms clean enough in the important areas but dirty windows and corners spoiled the effect. The TV needed a full retune every time it was switched on. Very annoying.
Didn't do the evening Tapas as we arrived too late; service ended at 945pm. Not really Tapas now is it?
Staff friendly enough and allowed us to leave car in the very small car park after we checked out, having said that, you might struggle to get a space if all the rooms were occupied. Take a Smart car!

Very Poor
Stayed 3 nights. beds not made nor room cleaned. dirty carpet. Entrance to rooms by slippery fire escape.
More like a hostel than hotel.
