Cheap accommodation in Manchester
On first arrival the accommodation is basic, however clean and tidy with friendly staff.
First room we had there was a problem with the plumbing which mean that we only were able to get a few hours sleep. However the staff were very helpful and we were moved the next morning to another room. This room was also clean and tidy. Free wifi in public areas but also in your room when you ask for the code. We stayed to go to Old Trafford which through the day was about £10 in a taxi returning on the evening for £15 so with 4 of us sharing was a right bargain. The continental breakfast was good and in the cost of the room which made the price great. All in all if you don't want glamour this is a very good place to stay.
I have stayed st this hotel a few times now.
It is one of the best hotels within my budget. I work regularly in Manchester hospitals and this hotel is ideally placed. I just need somewhere to sleep at night. Since I have to leave before breskfast is ready the staff kindly let me grab something to eat on the way. The only priblem I find is the noisey plumbing. It is on the main bus route to the university and the city centre.
Very unusual accommodation but very cheap.
Very friendly staff and you can get an evening meal here. I opted for the cooked breakfast which was really good and enough to fill most people up. Room wasn't great but it was reasonably clean. The hall echoed a lot but other than that it was a good stay. Staff made up for any shortfall. This had internet connection foc and Tea and Coffee in the rooms

All was fine except the room was very dirty
Great Value for Money.
Value for money
This was a an incredibly convenient and accessible place to stay when visiting Manchester.
Yes, the rooms are basic (as they clearly state) and the décor a little tired, but everything was clean and very comfortable. I was amazed how quiet it was, despite the proximity to a busy road. My single room was very spacious, with en-suite, tea/coffee facilities (and biscuits!) toiletries, television, and WiFi. It was warm and comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. The free continental breakfast was amazing. Plentiful and delicious. I have stayed at much less pleasant (and shabbier) places which were far more expensive. Definitely a gem!
A basic hotel room which was ok for 1 night.
The bed was pretty uncomfortable and the room was very basic. Staff on reception when we checked in was awful. When asking her a question regarding parking she chose to focus more on drawing around her own hand!!
Great value spot with restful garden
Stayed here with some ex-uni friends for a reunion, and we found it to be a great place to get together.
Comfortable rooms and a lovely courtyard garden to sit in and chat. Very handy for bus services to the town and Uni.
Clean, basic accommodation
Clean, basic accommodation.
Provided tea/coffee and shower products in room. But mattresses not great. Breakfast quite good but some fresh fruit would be nice.
Luther King House
I booked the room for two nights as we were attending a wedding in Levershulme.on reflection, I should have booked a ground floor room as I have slight trouble using stairs and there was no lift.
However that was no fault of the hotel. The room itself, was rather small and we managed by pulling the double bed away from the wall so one of us didn't have to climb over the other to use the bathroom facilities during the night. The main problem with the accommodation was the room was so hot and though we opened the lower portion of the window, it was still uncomfortably hot both day and night. That is the only reason that I would not stay there again.
