Staff on front desk not very friendly, apart from the scottish guy on last day.
Had to ask to change room as the old sash windows rattled and let in an awful noise and draft, so didn't get a lot of sleep first night. Second room better but still needs new windows.Very clean rooms and breakfast was good and a lot more choice than expected. Part of hotel looks modern whilst some looks like it hasn't had anything done to it for a long time, including vacuuming.
An excellent hotel, in an excellent location, with an excellent room!.
Stayed here for one night in a very large room with a large en-suite. The room was clean and tidy. I was in Glasgow for a concert so the hotel ideally located for the venue. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Ideal location to central station
Hotel is in an ideal location close to city centre train station clean tidy friendly staff always happy to help food was good no problems at all apart from having to keep getting the door card reprogrammed other than that was a pleasure to stay
Great place for a warm and cosy winter break
The room was large and comfortable, showers in modern bathroom were hot and powerful, sadly no bath.
Being at the front of the hotel the was some noise from the bar/nightclub below until early hours of the morning. The Breakfast was included and made the room good value. Reception staff were very helpful. The location is very convenient to the train station, airport bus and main shopping centre. We would stay there again.
Good, bad and the ugly
GOOD = was the price, location and the very good breakfast.
BAD = were the very thin, hard pillows, the uncomfortable mattress, could feel the springs coming through. UGLY = The wall area around the bin was splattered with stains, probably from tea bags and the most unpleasant view was looking up from the bed at the ceiling which was quite well water stained in one particular area.
Good Hotel In Central Location
Staff pleasantvand helpful.
Room clean and spacious, nice touches like decent sized mugs supplied instead of tiny cups, plenty of electric sockets. Wifi was free and worked very well and fast. Bathroom was excellent, very good shower. The hotel itself had some lovely original features like the fireplaces. Being in city centre there was some street noise during the night.
Good hotel, standard double room was smaller than we expected
The room was well arranged but small in size
The hotel is a perfect location for visiting the city, the main high street a short walk away and public transport just round the corner for the local shopping centres.
At night time, especially at the weekend it was noisy due to the old windows but I was expecting some noise so it wasn't a bother. The room was very clean, a bit dated but the bathroom was lovely and modern. The only issue I experienced in my room was the connecting door to the room next to me meant I could hear every word being said and I was unfortunate enough to have loud visitors who were up until the early hours. Next time I would ask for a room not attached to another.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
The bathroom floor was unveven with a trip hazard room 514. The toilet pan was cracked and toilet seat loose and no curtains in the bathroom, only net curtains which reduced privacy from adjacent buidlings. However, the room was warm and functional and the breakfast was good. OK for one night but I would have been disappointed if we had stayed there longer. The view of the rear of the hotel was dismal. The hotel is being refurbished and so the issues are being addressed I presume.
