I was looking for inexpensive rooms as attending a family event nearby - so only booked standard rooms but was surprised to get a lovely venue and a great room.
Service was friendly, food excellent (dinner with wine was not cheap). Turned into a relaxing break including a bit of tennis. They could make more use of the extensive grounds for the full country house experience.
Hi to be honest we were not all that impressed with our stay.
When we arrived the front car park was full with ladies attending an afternoon noon tea so we parked on the overflow car park and had to carry our cases some distance.
The room was well presented but very small with a view of air conditioning units. Then later in the afternoon we asked to see the menu as we intended to eat in and celebrate my wife's birthday we were told the restaurant was full but we could have a snack or sandwich. This resulted in us having to drive out in search for somewhere to eat. After filling in a review for the hotel and then prompting them for there comments I had a reply apologising and saying " I hope you had a successful and a enjoyable meal out"
We don't like to complain but I think you should be aware of our feelings as we expected something a little more special
