Me and my boyfriend stayed here for one night after a day trip to Blackpool.

Although the guest house was a little further away from the piers than we expected, it was definitely worth travelling for an extra two minutes down the road. Called beforehand to say we were going to be arriving to the hotel a little late, and the lovely gentleman I spoke to told me about nearby traffic etc. When we arrived, there was parking outside the front of the hotel, meaning I could leave my car there in confidence (it's very nerve-racking trying to leave your car parked anywhere in Blackpool!). We were greeted at the front door by the gentleman I had spoken to on the phone. The check in was easy, and the gentleman gave us a lot of helpful information about best places to visit and also the closest and best restaurants closest to the guest. We were impressed with this straight away, but when we got into the room we were blown away. The room was stunning, decorated very nicely and had a hairdryer, TV, full length mirror and kettle, teabags and coffee etc. There was also an information pack on events taking place in Blackpool and places to visit. The bed was so comfortable I was considering asking them to sell it to me. The shower was a bit on the small side, but they had used the space well. There was cleansing wipes and shower gel supplied in the bathroom aswell. Both me and my boyfriend were blown away with the hotel, especially compared to the hotel we stayed in the last time we came to Blackpool, it was the complete opposite and blew it out of the water. Safe to say that if we stay in Blackpool again we will only ever come back to Athenry, nowhere else will live up to it in our eyes. The owners of the guest house were so friendly and helpful. Genuinely lovely people and made the hotel feel like it was home away from home. Very very comfortable and lovely stay at Athenry, will definitely be staying again in the near future.

My stay in Blackpool

The Guest house was clean bed comfortable, but the shower would only for a size 12.

We are not size 12. The toilet was not much bigger. We could not get wifi even after getting the code and discussing with the owner

The television had sound but no picture as we were only stopping the night we informed the owner in the morning. The wallpaper dib not match in one area. The breakfast was OK although the bacon was slightly rancid.
