About the hotel

The Inn is an original, beautifully restored 17th century drovers inn. The main building dates back to 1663 and parts of the original building dating back to the 1400,s remain. It is set in over 20 acres of grounds and overlooks Loch Eck and the stunning mountains beyond.

It has its own loch frontage and jetty. It has small windows and a quircky interior due to its age and is a listed building. It sits in splendid isolation approx. 12 miles from Dunoon in the heart of Argyll Forest Park and the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Altogether a very Scottish experience.

A Wee Treasure of an Inn

We decided to arrange a spontaneous last minute weekend getaway and used Late Rooms.com to find an affordable but attractive hotel in the Highlands.

We would never have found or chosen the Whistlefield Inn at Loch Eck without it being brought to our attention through your site. The Inn was as described and we had a wonderful weekend. The high standard of the food in the restaurant was an unexpected bonus and would attract us back. The changing light across the hills and the Stag grazing on the grass in front of our bedroom window contributed to a magical weekend.
