78% would recommend it to a friend
I stayed at the Boatyard Inn last weekend and can only describe it as disappointing.
The Staff were very helpful and friendly, however the room was well below what I would expect for a 4 star classification (though given that it is self classified)
The TV wasn't working, there was no hot water (only luke warm) in the bathroom sink, shower was lovely and hot mind. We couldn't get the towel heater to work, the wet room had no external window and took ages to dry, which is a bit of a problem if you want to use the toilet and have to go over wet floors. The room wasn't particularly clean either, lots of dust on the trays with the tea and coffee facilities, cob webs on the telly mount which had been there for a while, the windows were dirty and the outside of the accommodation building looked quite run down.
I do have to add that the staff were very friendly and helpful, that was a point of redemption and when I reported the TV and the water they made efforts to have those things put right, but due to it being a weekend were not able to. We did get a small refund which I accepted (£20 for two nights). The restaurant was fine, the choices on the menu adequate but pricey . despite all that I enjoyed the fact that the accommodation building was separate from the Restaurant. Would I go back . No , would I recommend The Boatyard Inn to a friend. No
Sorry I was left very unimpressed. Too expensive for what it is, I could have got a 4 star Holiday Inn cheaper
