Nice room quiet location
Although my room was above the pub, it was quiet.
The pub has a gastro pub menu and would be fine to dine alone in as it had a friendly atmosphere and modern interior. When I paid for the room it was by card and the only receipt I got was a card machine one. The bar was very busy so I opted to sort the issue the next morning. The staff the next day were unable to help when I asked for a VAT receipt, I left a written message to be handed to someone to email me a receipt and also called asking for one. I stayed 3 nights ago and am yet to receive a VAT receipt which would influence whether I'd stay here again or advise it for those staying for business.
Why i had to leave at 3 in the morning!
Where do I start.
You do not necessarily stay at The Lodge despite Late Room booking states The Lodge.I stayed in the main building above the bar and next to the road. To say my request of a quiet room couldn't have been further from what I got if you tried. From the noisy road, shouting from the carpark til 2 in the morning (Friday night) to the extractor fans which could have graced the QE2 going til 2 in the morning plus bar noise, road noise, shouting and swearing from the carpark I gave up and left to wait out my time in my vehicle 6 hours hence for the work I was doing. What an awful experience for someone who just requested a quiet stay, I will be adding to this comment on Trip Advisor to let others know where not to stay. What a rip off and poor advertising of actual location.
