Lovely old Tallin Hotel

Very much in keeping with the atmosphere of tallin.

A quirky hotel with the charm of staying in an olde worlde building converted sympathetically into a charming hotel. The room although not over large was interestingly beamed ceiling, stone and plaster walls and very comfortable. Only criticism was the noise from the room above as they were clearly walking on floorboards which formed our ceiling so we could hear every footstep etc...but I suppose that was how it was built. Would recommend as a brilliant base for being central in old Tallinn.

Perfect for Old Town

You can't get a much better location than this for walking around the Old Town.

There is a museum passage opposite that you can walk through to get to the main square in a minute. The main city isn't far away either. It isn't on a public transport route but it's close, and taxis are cheap.

At first I was amazed at how spotless and how large our room was, especially the bathroom. I wasn't expecting this as the hotel has a rickety old feel about it. Unfortunatley we found someone elses old pijamas in our bed, but only after we had slept in it. We told the staff who changed the bed as soon as we left for the day. Breakfast is good, and the choice is fairly standard for the area. We wern't advised about the works going on on the front of the hotel before our stay but it didn't matter too much. The only problem was when somone appreared on the scaffolding outside our third floor window!. We closed the blinds after that.. We stayed in the hotel a few days later and were on the ground floor out the back in the lovely courtyard. The standard of room was the same. My only issue in the room was making sure the blinds covered the whole of the door and window so no one could see in. I'll happily stay in this hotel on my next trip to Tallinn. There are no lifts and some staircases are small - there are also some beams at chest height to go under to some rooms on the top floor. bear this in mind if you have large suitcases.
