About the hotel

Here at the Morton Guesthouse,, we are the ideal choice for realistically priced accommodation near the East Midlands Airport. Our guest house is located in Castle Donington, close to the famous Donington Park Motor Race Circuit, East Midlands Airport, Alton Towers, Drayton Manor Park and the National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierpoint. Morton Guesthouse is under the ownershipof Julie and Pete.

Your hosts are upgrading the facilities and especially your all important breakfast. the breakfast menu can be seen on the website but two highlights are home made brown bread and comb honey from our own bees! The Guest House offers free WiFi as we consider this to be pretty much essential these days and why should it be an extra? The rooms are immaculately presented, though still with that homely feel. There are two en-suite bedrooms which are in a separate building offering just that degree more of quietude. We are a non smoking establishment please note. We have on site parking for a limited number of vehicles so please do not ask to leave your car with us while you holiday as the answer is a no. We are sorry but we cannot accommodate pets. The guest house is situated on the main road through the village of Castle Donington. The village is minutes from the motorways M1, M42 and the new A50 link from the M1 to the M6. East Midlands Airport and Donington racetrack are just minutes away from the guest house. The cities of Nottingham, Leicester, and Derby are only a short drive away, and the nearest train station is Long Eaton. There is a 24/7 bus service to and from the East Midlands Airport with a stop just 350m from our door. This service leaves on the hour and half hour. The Guesthouse is well placed to explore the East Midlands scenic villages, as well as the famous Lace Market and castle in Nottingham City. Why not stroll in Sherwood Forest and imagine the Merry Men, Maid Marion and Robin Hood. Leicestershire has many fascinating places to discover and is also in the heart of the new and growing treasure, the National Forest. Try not to leave before sampling the world famous Melton Mowbray pork pies and of course Leicestershire Blue Stilton cheese.

Great service

Stayed at this hotel as was attending an event at nearby donington park.

Staff were able to accommodate our early check in and provided us with a great breakfast. Also help us with travel to and from the event. Very pleased

Morton Guesthouse

After working a 14 hour day, I was looking forward to relaxing in a nice clean room with ensuite.

Oh no, I booked an ensuite which cost an additional £5 which my room did not have, the room itself was shabby at best. I figured I'd just go to sleep and forget about the room, but even this was a problem. The walls are paper thin so I could hear every word being spoken by the two men in the room next door and to top it off just as I fell asleep the fire alarm went off. I can't comment on breakfast as it wasn't offered even though it was included in the price. I won't be going back.

We freely admit we made a mistake with the room we put this guest in.

However if he had pointed this out at the time then the disturbance he

suffered would have been avoided apart from the fire alarm.

We cannot manage guests who chose to misbehave until it occurs. They were

read the riot act by myself and the alarm was silenced once we were sure it

was a false one. Though as they filled the room with smoke from a faulty

electrical device it actually was a real alarm. Surely it is better to be

woken up and be safe than otherwise?

If this guest had chosen to communicate with us from the outset most of the

issues would have been avoided.
