About the hotel
Ravenstone Lodge is a converted 19th Century stables & lodge with many original features including the stables themselves which are now the Bistro & Bar. Situated at the foot of Ullock Pike close to Skiddaw with views towards Bassenthwaite Lake and the Northern Fells we are perfectly positioned to explore the Northern Lake District. Ravenstone Lodge is a privately small hotel with just 9 bedrooms and because of this we can provide a uniquely personal service and when you stay with us you are not just a room number but are our guests in the true meaning of the word.
Because of this many return time and time again, maybe requesting their favourite room or that a particular dish be put on the menu. Food is very important to us and our philosophy is very simple, top quality locally sourced ingredients cooked to order by our Head Chef, James Cooper. As a demonstration of the quality of our food we were delighted to be awarded an AA Rosette for culinary excellence in April 2014 for our Coach House Restaurant. Mike Cornish - Proprietor

Fantastic, peaceful & welcoming stay
We decided to stay here following our Wedding.
The setting is stunning. The accommodation is perfect. Very clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and from the moment we arrived we were welcomed with open arms. We decided to dine here and the food was delicious to say the least. Everything was home made. The breakfast had lots of choice. The home made bread was especially delicious. The gentleman that owns the property was very helpful and friendly and made us feel that he had know us for years. We will definitely be returning for another stay, Many thanks Sara & Gordon Tunstall.
Going on other reviewers we hoped it was going to be good.
It was just perfect. We were given an upgrade to a four poster bed room with beautiful views. Large bathroom, dressing gowns and fluffy towels.
The breakfast was again, just perfect. Hot, tasty and plentiful.
Unfortunately we didn't eat in the hotel in the evening as we had family plans elsewhere, but the menu looked amazing and going on the quality of the breakfast, I would expect it was just as good. We would certainly recommend you stay here, it's just perfect
