Average at best
This hotel wasn't the worst I have stayed in.
My room was certainly clean but needing repair. The windows were my main issue - the window didn't close so it was both noisy (due to other people in the next door room talking loudly and also traffic noise) and cold. A heater was supplied but it was nonetheless drafty and fairly unpleasant for this reason. I was also disappointed to see that the shower was literally in the same room as the bed and located right next to the wardrobe (which had slats) so all condensation from having a shower goes directly into your clothes. Less than ideal and not what I'd expect for the price paid.
Cheap and clean
You get what you pay for at the Garth.
The rooms are clean, staff were nice and friendly and the location is very central. It's certainly not luxury and yes, my room did not have a toilet, but at the same time it was very convenient and cheap for central London. Breakfast was also very nice.
