Good for a one night stop.
For a couple having a night away in London it's a splendid hotel.
We paid £63 for one night, we were happy however room wasn't very spacious and tucked away in the basement. We booked very last minute so that was expected however considering we had no breakfast included, or no wifi I felt that was quite a bit of money for what we got. It's in a great location- couple of tube stops from Central London. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and was a bonus being able to leave our bag for the day- for free. Rare to find that these days. Would highly recommend to anyone staying for a day or two as room accommodated for that, however I wouldn't like being in the room we stayed in for longer than that- other rooms may differ.
Clean and friendly budget hotel
I stayed in a triple room with my two children.
Room clean and well presented. Bathroom basic but clean (powerful shower). Friendly service - staff provided extra pillows and came to show me how to use the safe. Just a few minutes walk from Paddington. Busy location with traffic noise but this is central London. Would definitely stay there again.
Basic great value so close to Paddington
Just wanted a decent base for a two day trip to London and this hotel provided great value, a comfortable stay and a bit of breakfast too.
Couldn't go wrong.
The location of the hotel is great 3minutes walk from paddington station , friendly staff on check in , nice continental breakfast , although we were expecting full English , but nevertheless what was given was very good .
Will certainly use again as perfect location.
Really very good, deserves its generally good reviews!
Entrance clean and welcoming, attentive and efficient booking in staff.
No hidden costs for paying by credit card either. Room itself fairly basic but very clean (just gave a slight impression of being a bit cluttered in so far as furniture 'squeezed' in !), but certainly doesn't detract from the value for money. Beds comfortable (at least for me though I appreciate that that is very much a personal consideration), and room has the usual compliment of good size TV, tea and coffee, hairdryer etc. Bathroom very clean, good shower (just a comment, why are towels always so small...bath sheets would be better!) and complimentary shower gels shampoo etc. The included continental breakfast had a good variety of cereals, breads, croissants etc with no restrictions. Overall very good and ideal as a one night stay over for business purposes, would certainly use again. My one gripe overall, and applies to nearly every hotel and chain is the usual access to internet. I didn't need to use, but its free for half an hour then £5 an hour, which I think is bad practice...surely could be offered for free or at least at a £5 a day if needs be. As I say, this applies to all hotels, and not just The Royal eagle. Good all round generally.
Booked into a spacious attic room.
Ceilings a bit low and did bang my head but for the price can't really complain and would definitely stay again.
Small room but well worth the stay
Bed points: Room we stayed in was very small, and I mean really small.
Sink plug leaked so to shave i had to leave the hot tap on (i think they done this to stop accidental flooding). Shaving light seemed to be missing a section and it got very hot to touch (not sure was safe). Bed was hard, personal preference - i prefer soft / medium. Shower - had to force the mixer round as it was stuck on max hot. Good points:
Reception area was like walking into a 5 star luxury hotel. Staff were all very friendly and helpful (helped sort out shower temp)
The price - really good value for what you got which dispells the negatives
Location - couple of minutes from the underground - perfect
Wasn't very noisy on the 2nd floor - expected it to be worse being at the front but it was fine. Room was always lovely and warm. Shower - expected a dribble like most hotels instead it was very powerful and the best i've been in. Food / drinking places literally on the same street so no need to walk miles. Cleanliness - it was fine and no complaints at all. Summary:
Great place to stay for the price, you pay for what you get and this met my expectations if not slightly exceeded them.
Great value, will book again.
My daughter and I only stayed one night to catch a show but were both nicely surprised by the neatness and cleanliness of this hotel.
Attractive foyer, pleasant staff, comfortable room - a bit on the small side but perfectly adequate for our needs. Modern decor and very comfortable beds. Good view from the window - trees and an elegant Georgian terrace opposite. Loved it and will definitely use it again.
For London, good value handily placed hotel for Paddington
Hotel Royal Eagle
Room was rather cold as stayed in December & no heating also shower was poor kept running hot then cold then stopped altogether but for what we payed it was ok as long as you are only staying for 1 or 2 nights.
