What was shown in pics and what was offered was different.
Not so good , no lift ,room is very narrow
ST JOSEPH HOTEL (Formerly St. George Hotel)
I found the rooms to be extremely small and the noise from staff outside our window was very loud at such an early time.
Leaves something to be desired
From the road the accommodation looked fairly ok, with window boxes to cheer it up, but my rear ground floor room opened to a verandah which seemed not to have been swept in ages - fag ends and a bread wrapper blowing around, and the window boxes here had dead vegetation.
The bed was comfortable and the curtains tasteful, but the room needed decorating and the skirting board was coming adrift. The dining room was stark, the staff here did not offer anything beyond the most basic corn flakes and toast plus tea or coffee. I did see other people had eggs, but there was nothing 'offered'.
Great location - Disappointing service
Nice location in a quiet neighborhood, nearby Earls Court station.
Clean and in general decent room. Unfriendly staff though and unsatisfied by the payment policy. Two days prior to arrival I was notified that my debit card, approved at first place (almost a month in advance when the booking was done), was declined and same with the next two cards I provided (another debit and a credit card Visa/Mastercard) all valid in Greece, which is unacceptable. I guess Greek cards are not very popular these days... Wifi on payment as well as the adaptor for charging phones. Also the room had a tv but the remote control was invisible... I assume you had to ask the reception and pay extra for that as well…
Great for a weekend getaway hotel
Don't expect anything great from this hotel, but don't expect rubbish at the same time.
Its pretty standard, it does the job, beds were okay comfort wise, although I did book a double bed and got given a twin. Other than that, small cosy rooms, and yeah great value for price, especially for the location.
One night stay
For the cheap price we paid for two rooms via LateRooms the hotel was good value.
It is within walking distance of Earls Court tube station. Our ensuite double room was reasonably sized and clean. The quilt was not quite wide enough to cover the two twin beds put together to make a large double but we managed ok. It could have done with sachets of decaff coffee as could breakfast but did have other coffee and tea. The fridge in the room was a good idea. The twin room had three beds in which made it very crowded with little room to move round and the shower drain was blocked causing an overflow onto the floor. Breakfast could have done with a bit more variety eg more than one choice of cereal. The reception staff were very helpful and had a very pleasant manner. Overall, good for the price we paid, in central London.
Good if you get a cheap deal
I paid less than £50 for a basement room which was clean and actually had a view into a large courtyard, so good value for money, but do they really need to charge you a deposit for a remote for the TV!
Good for the price
Great location not far from earls court tube.
Room was long and narrow, but adequate for our purpose I.e. or all day and back to sleep only. Bathroom clean, shower underpowered but adequate. Breakfast was toast, cereal etc, but fine as a prep for the day. Only real problem was the squeaky bed.
