simple, well located and great value for money

Really good value for this price
We were on a 2 days London trip with my girlfriend and were looking for cheap accommodation for one night.
Lancaster's price is very good. You get what you pay for. But all the staff members were very kind, the room was really small but clean. To be honest it was way better than I expected for 40 pounds. After the booking I tried to change the date for the next day as I made a mistake. Laterooms staff said I can not do that only if I pay the full price again. Then I called Lancaster Court Hotel and they changed the date immediately for free of charge, so they were really helpful.
they told me there was a couple of steps, as I'm disabled, there were lots. breakfast in the morning was very poor and the girl were very rude. wont be staying here again.
Clean and great customer service!
Exactly what it says on the tin.
A cheerful, clean, friendly hotel that is convenient for lots of London attractions. Room was exactly as expected: clean and basic (not a criticism!). The toilet was a bit small but perfectly serviceable. Breakfast was included in the price and, although nothing fancy, was served in a friendly atmosphere and filled us up.
Stairs leading to fourth floor were steep and narrow (no lift) and thus a stuggle to take heavy luggage up and for the elderly.
Contrary to previously shown website photographs, there were no curtains in the room to cover the window that was opposite the shower-in-room cubicle. Expressed concerns to hotel check-in staff were indifferent. Wallpaper peeling from wall (window side) revealed hole in wall. No extractor fan in very small toilet with basin room. Apart from the above, good location.
Hotel of last resort.....avoid if you can..
Late booking so stuck on choices, late check in but not any excuse for ending up in a basement room that should have been condemned years ago.
If you expect certain values consider going out to the suburbs rather than support this low quality excuse for 'hotel' accommodation..!
run down hotel
example - one shower door missing & replaced by curtain
Windows in my room were rotten, hotel is in need of a lot of work.
Avoid this hotel like the plague!
For a 'reduced rate' of £106 I was given a substandard room in the basement that didn't even have curtains at the window or a carpet ion the floor (Room 1). Situated with a rubbish dump outside the window and a 'back alley' entrance for staff and an emergency exit, this room can only be descfribed as a dump. I suspect it used to be a store room converted to a 'bedroom'. I complained twice...and was eventually moved to a very slightly better room (Room 6) that at least had curtains . - but no hanging space for even a jacket, mould on the walls, an en suite which was dirty and with a sliding door that was off its runners. I didn't have time to change hotels before I had to go out for dinner, so decided to 'make do' (and of course I'd pre-paid for it) The only saving grace was that when I returned after my evening out at 2.30am I found a spotlessly clean bed with obvious linen hire laundry, and managed get a few hours sleep before being woken by foreign speaking workers outside my door at 7.30am. I couldn't get out of there fast enough!!. Laterooms should not be selling this hotel. It's filthy, the carpets haven't been cleaned for years....it is a total dump. Read the Trip Advisor reviews. I wish I had before I booked it.
