A real little gem with 5 star service
Sometimes I read glowing reviews for hotels and when I go I find the place to be satisfactory , this hotel isnt satisfactory its an absolute superb little gem. Yes the rooms are small thats because its a very old converted building and the size of my room if it bothered would be the only downside of staying here. The location is superb , the buildings are steeped in history built around a perfectly preserved mill , if you like industrial heritage this is the place for you. If you like a secluded gorgeous setting , this is the place for you . If you are interested in rivers, canals , barges a working marina , this is the place for you. If you like good food, this is the place for you . If you like genuinely ( not just going through the motions ) friendly service from staff who couldnt do enough for you , this is the place for you. To sum up if you need accomodation in this area or you just fancy a break somewhere , this is the place. All that and its cheap too. I recomend it to everyone and anyone.

Stayed in a large room in the building seperate to the restaurant. It had a lovely view of the river and fields surrounding it. The best thing about my stay though, was the appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas as we drove down the little country road. It feels like its in its own little world, which was perfect for the romantic weekend I had planned.

A good MishMash
A nice mishmash of a hotel, ideal for a relaxing country break, yet only half an hour from London .Excellent value for money, a lovely building(s) and very friendly staff. Just let down by a few odds and ends and finishing touches, such as a wardrobe that was more like a t.v cabinet and impossible to hang a shirt up in, no toilet roll holder, stained towels, and a barman who could remember a round of drinks 30 seconds after your ordered it! We had a great time and in a way these bits and pieces added to the quirkyness of our weekend.
