romantic, but too cold
This is a beautiful country house hotel, you can imagine that you are lord/lady of the manor. The decor is a bit iffy (instead of portraits, there are framed frames!), but I liked it. I think it would be a great venue for a wedding. The room was lovely, enormous very comfortable bed, and a deep claw-footed bath and 2 sinks in bathroom, all promised to be a romantic break. BUT with all high-ceilinged old places, the heating was not up to the cold weather (air cond set to 30 degrees and still v cold), and romance is not that easy if you are freezing! I would def visit again, but only in warmer months, I prefer a warmer, cosier room for winter. Breakfast was lovely, and there was aways a little deer bounding around the grounds whenever we went out.
