Nice but a little tired
Great staff but more like a pub than a hotel.
Small restaurant and very casual which wasn't quite what we thought it would be from the website. Misrepresented rooms really as we're very average and bathroom
Described as all with Italian marble which leads you to think luxury but it was very small
And only the wall tiles I assume were the reference as side of the bath was not marble. The place is half bed and breakfast half hotel. The staff were great and made the stay good. Food was good although wine stock was out of my choice which wasn't good. Overall we were expecting more but if was a pleasant stay.

The photos of this hotel were impressive and it was described as a boutique hotel.
We booked an executive room (240) and were very disappointed when we saw it. Fortunately we were only staying for one night. The room was long and narrow and incredibly dark even with all the lights on. The carpet was really dirty and smelt stale. We opened the windows for some fresh air but were overwhelmed by the smell of fat from the kitchen extractors below. The view was really bad, just looking out on another part of the hotel where the once white UPVC windows were grey in colour. We did not appreciate all the cigarette butts on the flat roof below either. The bedside lampshades were black material and covered in dust. One bedside light was very unstable as the base was loose, it was not working and the standard lamp only came on if you shook it. We requested that the bedside light be fixed and a person was sent with a new light bulb. As soon as he tried to put in the new bulb all the lights in the room blew and sparks flew from the base. He could not provide us with another lamp as the flex was wired into the wall. A short time afterwards the duty Manager arrived to look at the problem. He said that we could move to a different room but it was directly over the party venue, a very large Christmas party was to be held that night so we decided to remain in the room. The manager offered us a drink on the house and we requested a cup of tea. This never arrived. The large bed was very comfortable and when the party finished at 1am we were able to sleep.
Breakfast was rather chaotic and distinctly average. A limited choice of food and only sliced white or brown bread. This hotel is in need of refurbishment. It is a lovely building and could make a fantastic hotel. At the moment it does not merit the price charged.

A clean and charming room; more boutique than expected. Food was OK and welll presented but unfortunately one of our courses lacked flavour. Overall a nice hotel and we will use again.

Excellent customer service, lovely hotel.
I booked two executive rooms for a Sunday evening in order to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday.
I contacted the hotel in advance to book a table for lunch and dinner and to request an early check-in if possible as we were going to watch Wasps vs Bath rugby match at High Wycombe.
On arrival, we received a warm welcome from Bharat. He had one room available at 1115 and another (the very nice 'King's Room') half an hour later so we were able to check in nice and early which we appreciated. Lunch was excellent, as was the evening Sunday Roast. The birthday desert they prepared for my dad was a nice touch. Special thanks to Yogi and Swapnil for that one. A good night's sleep was followed by a delicious breakfast buffet in the morning. Thanks to the breakfast girls for looking after us. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay and a memorable 80th birthday for my dad. A delightful hotel with the friendliest and most attentive staff I've experienced in some time.
The room was a run down room, being a smoking room you would expect an ashtray but none were provided, the sink was also cracked, windowsil was filfy, bedside floor needed a good hoover.
Was expecting a lot more considering the status and price of the accommodation.

Clearly take more pride in keeping non-smoking rooms a bit more clean.
Still not 100% as rubbish was left under the bed from the occupant who stayed on the 18th and I stayed on the 26th 8 days later - things need to be moved for a good clean
